Soon to be 37 in the fall 0-4 career playoff record. Actually when you get down to it he is a very fitting "mentor" for our own QB for all the wrong reasons considering we're still looking to end our own drought going on 8 years now.

Bruh we need to open the huddle to rival fans again. This echo chamber poo is officially out of pocket.

You keep complaining about an "echo chamber" when half the posts in the Dalton and Theilen threads that have you crashing out are your posts. If there's an echo chamber it's the one in your own head. Just sayin'...

who should replace him then? Got any great names for us?

outside of rookie year type scenarios (where I want it)....I'm not a super huge fan of old vet QB as the #2.  I'd largely prefer a hungry younger guy that maybe faltered in his first opportunity as the #2.

and that really has nothing specifically to do with Bryce Young but it does have something to do with Bryce Young.  Bryce Young is sort of in that no man's land.  Year 3 player and no one really knows what his future holds and how things will go.

Isn't Plummer year 2? Or did he play somewhere else before?

I've had multiple people spam poo reactions and argue with me until they are blue in the face over the current realities of both Dalton and Thielen. I'm gonna just go ahead and completely disagree with you bud.

he was an undrafted rookie.  Which for me, is a different tier.  It's the additional arm tier, that no coach will ever have to really worry about talking about.

Pending I don't have a rookie or superstar....I probably prefer the QB situation most coaches don't want.  Which means a #2 that fans would clamor for if times got a little tough.

We picked up UDFA Ethan Garbers too. I mean we are comically bad at QB if Bryce Young hits a rough stretch. And despite the current rationalizations here in July nobody is going to want to be subjected to watching Andy Dalton start at QB for more than 1 or 2 games because it will get ugly sooner rather than later and people will be talking cold hard poo about it you can bet your bottom dollar on that.

I mean, you're espousing poo takes. What do you expect? I think the poo reaction is weak sauce and you should just be willing to actually voice your disagreement but that's just me.

I reserve the poo reaction for human garbage and bigotry.

Anyways I would say these are unpopular takes solely because people are wanting to be upbeat and I get that. I am trying to be in the same boat. My optimism resides within the young talent that we have on the roster and the hope that Canales will develop them. I like the additions we've made in that area and I've said so. But when we have aging and debatably washed up vets at key areas that have held us back for years (QB/WR) that's where I'm going to be bluntly realistic. We've done the same with the NBA franchise here and signing Mason Plumlee. Except the Hornets have the trade deadline and Plumlee might not even be here to finish the season and the Hornets have a plethora of youth on their roster now. And the development of said youth talent does not hinge on one other player. Unlike the Panthers. QB is the most consequential position. None of this should be considered controversial.

bro, this is July heading into a new season.  Even not very optimist posters are operating at their most optimist versions of themselves.

I mean, not me.  Just talking about others.  I have dumped all my optimism into one player.  I got little left over to spread around elsewhere.

All hail the future King of the Queen City!

Hahahahaha.

Hey at least Hunter Renfrow is still in his twenties. Plenty of juice left in the tank.

It took me a minute to even recognize Adam Thielen. Clearly, I'm not as invested as I once was.

That's upstate South Carolina royalty right there sir.  James Hunter Renfrow.  Third and Renfrow. The man's got literal WR routes named after him.  A multi-time champion on the football field.  Half man, half god, half possible centaur.  Best put some respect on his name.

Does Adam Thielen have routes named after him? Well, in fairness, JT O'Sullivan might have some names for them.

Pretty much anything and everything remotely critical said about the Panthers in some way or another leads back to Bryce hate in your mind.

Not really. Just with you and mrcompletely11.

Even though CRA is not a big believer in the team currently, he at least engages in good faith debate regarding them. Trying to have a rational conversation with you where you don't crash out and start being dismissive is outright impossible, so triggering you with poo emojis and pointing out your Bryce hate is the most effort I'm willing to put in until you figure out how to be a person.😛

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
