The bit with a correction from yesterday.

Derrick Brown isn’t here and wasnt here yesterday (thought I saw him in individuals, my mistake).

He is excused with a person reason, and it’s not injury related.

Lots of kick returners getting work out here today. Everyone from Jimmy Horn to Raheem Blackshear to Rico Dowdle and Trevor Etienne. There were others.

#Panthers TE Tommy Tremble is working on an adjacent field to the stretch period.

He’s running routes and catching the ball. He looks pretty fluid as a runner.

Had back surgery during the offseason program and is on PUP.

Bryce Young with a throw David Moore on a cross in red zone. Chau Smith-Wade gets to him before the end zone.

Smith-Wade is wearing the team helmet guardian cap in practice it looks like.

Bryce goes deep for T McMillan in team drills. A lot of contact. Pass falls incomplete.

Jaycee Horn with a great 11 on 11 rep against Tetairoa McMillan on a deep route that Young essentially had to overthrow to avoid trouble from CB1. Shut him down from my angle.

Chau Smith-Wade with a pbu on a Young throw to a crossing David Moore in 11 on 11. Nice play.

Adam Thielen then gets the best of CSW on a crosser. Good competition.

Andy Dalton lofts a toss down the seam to massive WR Brycen Tremaine for a TD. Didn’t see who was in coverage (crowd blocking the view going the other way.

Tremaine was sidelined through the offseason program.

Andy Dalton to Hunter Renfrow for a nice gain in 11s. Renfrow caught the ball and evade defenders after the catch with a nifty change of direction.

Dave Canales says that upon review Umanmielen’s contact with Bryce Young yesterday was incidental. Got to him again today and held off completely.

Point is: two straight days the rookie edge has gotten to the QB

Asked about run defense, Canales notes they're out there without both Derrick and Bobby Brown.

Derrick missed his second straight day for personal reasons, while Bobby remains on NFI.

Canales says they'll continue to rotate Austin Corbett and Cade Mays at center through camp, as they compete for starting job. Communication with Bryce will  be important part of their decision-making.

Ickey Ekwonu says he’s letting his agent handle his extension talks. But the Charlotte native reiterates he wants to stay here. “People say it’s like home. But this literally is home for me.”

Is he holding out?   That's a bit weird if true.   That tweet is vague

Chuba has bionic arms

Image

Dude is obviously jacked and strong but does anyone else think his forearms look tiny for a NFL RB? Maybe just the perspective in that picture…

Edgar Salmingo said Prince beat Ickey earlier in the day with a move.

If he is indeed sitting out waiting in a contract… bro. Really?

    • You're assuming just as well.   Morgan and Canales were hired 3 days apart.  I believe it was partially due to their connections in Seattle.  i believe Tepper wanted some familiarity with his GM and HC.  It is so easy to sit back and arm-chair QB over draft picks.  You don't know what the philosophy was going into the 2024 draft.  I believe Canales and Morgan were drafting for the future.  XL and Brooks point to that philosophy. Name me one GM that is 100% on draft picks.  Just one.  You're not going to find one.    I think year one picks weren't for what can you do for me now but Potential.   XL hasn't lived up to the hype of a 1st rounder.  I think we all can agree on that. However, there still is hope he comes around.  What I believe they saw in him was his speed after the catch.  He needs to get more consistent but when he gets the ball you kind of hold your breath just a second because if he gets free, he's gone.  The Brooks pick was a signing for the future, and no one could have guessed he would re-injure the same ACL.  This makes the pick look bad but Dallas was ready to draft him later that same round.  IMO we'll have to see what happens next season before we can call this a bust. Wallace has improved each season and for a third rounder has done well.  Sanders has shown flashes and considering the pick in the 4th round it wasn't a bad pick.  His sophomore season IMO was a little bit more productive.  Smith-Wade has been a good addition and has played well.  For a 5th round pick to get as much playing time as he has.  Most picks below round 3 should take a couple of years to get up to speed.  He's been a decent player.  Crumedy, no comment We turned Barrett into Jackson.  This was an amazing move and basically got a starting CB for a 7th round pick.  Pretty shrewd if you ask me. Coker, maybe the best Free Agent signing of the 2024 draft class. So, in short, you can't say that the draft was a bust.  It isn't a home run but all but one are still on the team and outside of Brooks have made contributions to wins.  2025 draft class has been much better with almost every pick making contributions this season.  Now take Fitterer's two years and compare them to Morgan and tell me that they have the same philosophy.
    • He hasn’t led crap, he’s on loaded teams and a piece of the puzzle. And he’s he has improved drastically but it took the ultimate QB whispers in Shanahan and KOC. You put him on this Panther team and he’s back to normal Darnold
    • Slavin and Jarvis week to week. Florida cheap shots took out our two best players.  I’d start KK so he can beat the brakes off someone.
