MLB Devin Lloyd for WR Jalen Coker??

Honestly, let’s dangle David Moore (who probably wont make the team) as trade bait for a ILB to a WR needy team. Nothing to lose. No way you give up Coker for one.

Honestly, I'd trade Thielen before I'd trade Coker. If Renfrow keeps showing out it honestly might become an enticing option if he's up for it. He'd probably just retire if we tried to ship him to Jacksonville but let's say somebody like KC for instance had interest? Not sure what their LB depth chart looks like but something like that could make a lot of sense. Thielen could go ring chasing with the best QB and offensive coach in the league and we could turn an aging WR into hopefully longer term roster building blocks.

kinda crazy to not trade an udfa for a 1st rounder who has performed.

yep, and on the flip side, Jax has not expressed any interest in trading him that I've seen. The article said "Lloyd will undoubtedly be a key piece."

Fun offseason what-if game to play though.

Yeah, I would consider trading Thielen as well. I have a feeling they wont considering they just gave him a pay bump.

I would hang on to Renfrow, because he’s can essentially replace Thielen as the old reliable WR (who is retiring after this year anyway).

I think they likely strongly value his presence both for Bryce and the young WRs which is completely understandable and I'm all for keeping him. I'm just saying that if Renfrow can largely replicate it for a lot less money then it frees us up to make a move.

You can't really pay much attention to what is said in these regards. You don't get maximum value for a guy by telling the whole league you're ready to send him packing. Actions speak louder than words and you don't decline the fifth year option on "undoubtedly a key piece".

No one wants to answer my questions, why wasn't Coker with BY and the whole WR crew at ATs bro retreat bonding?

No one knows the answer to that question. Maybe he had a family vacation planned, maybe he was sick, maybe he had an outstanding warrant in Minnesota??? Only the team knows, and they ain't sharing. We can't just assume that it means that some sort of sordid drama is going on.

I agree that Lloyd would instantly be our best ILB, but you're making too much out of a missed weekend.

I think it's very Carolina Panther fans of us to finally have a strength on this team and fans want to blow it up.....

Coker IS part of the reason it's strong. Can't count on AT or Renfrow to finish season healthy. BY needs all the help he can get.

We roll the dice on ILB this yr n if it doesn't work out address next year in the off-season.

End of story

Our starting WRs for the next 2yrs min should be Tmac, XL n Cokeman

Agreed. the point of the article, though, was that the Jags (or anyone else) wants to guarantee a ILB $14.5M for 2026. Lloyd has been solid, but it looks like the Jags are already trying to draft his replacement for 2026.

A lot of times that fifth year option is just picked up to buy another year of having a guy secured and an extension is worked out before that fifth year gets here. It's just a way to help secure a young talent and buy you time. Most fifth year options are picked up and honestly, if you're not willing to pick up a 5th year option on that position then that position should probably be off your 1st round draft board.

We don't even have a definite strength. We have a lot of unproven young potential that a lot of people are trying to project into a proven strength. These guys still have to go out there and prove it on the field but some folks are ready to ship off the one youngster who has actually shown the most. That's weird.

You right but IMO Coker last year proved it. When AT went down he was the only one make plays.

Making side line catches, route running. The guy was overlooked and DM made a great guess with picking him up.

I definitely think Coker is our most promising young WR based on his play on an NFL field.

    • Jalon Walker not looking like a bust? That can't be right.
    • To be fair. Our GM is the assistent of the worst GM in NFL history.  We pay trillions of dollars on the Oline and cant pass protect or run.  We pay trllions of dollars on the D-dine and cant pass rush.  We cant draft. We are a bad team. With a bad owner and really bad management.
    • Stud: WR Tetairoa McMillan In the midst of all the incompetence and mediocrity, there's one shining hope for the future of this franchise. Rookie wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan led the team with six catches and 100 receiving yards. He also had an extremely impressive one-handed catch wiped out becaue he couldn't quite stay in-bounds. McMillan is a bit slower, but there are flashes of some Julio Jones in his game. His route running and YAC ability are both far better than they were advertised coming out of the draft.   Or, you know, exactly what anyone who watched enough of his tape would have known.   Honestly, our Arizona board could never understand this knock on him in the pre-draft process, because we all knew it wasn't true.  And sure, we're fans who watched all his games, but you'd think the experts who supposedly watch all the snaps of these type of prospects would have been seeing it too, it was glaringly obvious to us. Seriously, how many times did I say here that he could run every route needed?  How many times did I talk about his surprisingly good run after catch ability for someone his size?  How he wasn't a burner, but he was amazingly smooth for a 6'5" WR? As I've said, only 2 players from Arizona, both football and basketball, have I ever felt they were 1 million percent can't miss stars in the pros.  T-Mac and Gronkowski, that's it.  One is the greatest TE in NFL history, the other is about to take Smitty's mantle as the Panthers WR GOAT when all is said and done.
