I was chatting with a buddy of mine and we both had the same perception of Parsons unprompted.  I don't know how the idea got there, as I largely only focus on Panthers content.

A quick Goog as we say seems to back that perception up, though.

"Candid and emotional, public spats, and internal friction." Were listed.  Brown has been pretty much perfect in his time here in my eyes.

"Public spats" and especially "internal friction," I wonder how many Cowboys have had that issue over the years...

I can deal with "candid and emotional."

You're trying to paint Parsons as a net negative in regards to being a teammate, and at its core that's a load of crap.

Tepper isn't the GM.

This is about contractual negotiations and the Cowboys playing the public game and not having any discussions with Micah's agent. Micah is a top player in the NFL (some have said the best at times), and players of his caliber are going to be paid. They're also going to be respected. Dude is only 25 years old and won't suffer from a lack of suitors. I'm sure we're calling, as it would be managerial malfeasance not to.

David Tepper is a meddler until proven otherwise. We're still waiting to see if he's truly evolved. Until then while he isn't Jerry Richardson he isn't necessarily better by comparison either.

If he's miserable in Dallas I do not envision him living his best life here under the Tepper's. Just the truth.

He wants his bag. He will be happy here if he was paid what he wants.

Well, that's your opinion.

That's where things get murky. What's he asking? I mean we're entering waters where now second round rookies are getting fully guaranteed contracts. He wants a deal that will dwarf recent top defender contracts. Is he worth it? I can't say. He's certainly talented. But we are not one piece away and that's a one piece away move. We are still waiting to see Bryce have his breakout season in year 3. Let's be realistic.

Problem with that trade is we now have nobody to stop the run and we run into the same problem as last year - teams will just run the ball every down and never pass.

Not sure Dallas would take it anyway with the injury DB had last year. They would want to see how he looks this year before making that trade

Dude, we have more than one guy to stop the run. Have you really researched our free agent acquisitions (much less the rookies)? I don't expect that to be a big issue this season, with or without DB.

I’m starting to view the NFL and cap the same as the economy. None of it’s real, will always go up, and you can make it look as good or bad as you want.

Discuss.

Carolina Panthers

Dallas- Micah Parsons

Panthers- Derrick Brown, 2026 Third Round Pick

Carolina is in desperate need of pass rush juice, and while parting with Derrick Brown may seem costly, the trade would be well worth it. For Dallas, the deal makes a lot of sense, as they’ve struggled for years to find a true run stuffer, and Brown would immediately fill that void. On the Panthers' side, the move signals a clear commitment to prioritizing quarterback pressure. In addition, it is typically easier to find an elite run defender than it is to find an elite pass rusher.

I mean, that little compensation??? Absolutely.

He isn't getting traded, however and certainly not for that.

The cap can certainly be worked around but we aren't exactly a representation of a franchise that has successfully accomplished this. Still no back to back winning seasons nearing a decade without a winning record. It is what it is.

the asking price is going to be insanely like 2 first high and you still need to pay him TJ Watt money. It's a lot to commit too.

Parsons is still young, so the "one piece away" argument isn't really potent to me. People usually say that when they don't want to pay a vet who's five years older.

The fact that Parsons is just entering his prime kinda makes having him worth it. If Parsons isn't worth it, I don't know who is. Like I said (if he actually ends up on the market), he willing suitors, with loads of cash, will not be a problem for him.

I don't see how you are saying I am painting him any sort of way.  I told you my gut feeling, based on nothing, and provided a quick AI overview seemingly garnered from public opinion backing that up.

Here's a more in depth look.

Public Spats:
Parsons has been involved in public disagreements with former teammates, media members, and even the Cowboys' owner, Jerry Jones.

Perceived Selfishness:
Some have criticized his focus on individual accolades over team success, with one former player calling him the "most selfish player" on the team according to a Yardbarker article.

That's exactly what I was thinking, but people are telling me that it's a whole bunch.
