Solid hit, not sure why the Texans got aggro?  Seems like some soft ass behavior.

Because it is practice and they want to protect their own.  We would likely do the same if they, for example, blasted TMac after a catch.

It's biased, but that's just how it is.  You only get mad on the receiving end.

Lol hearing those Texans fans is pretty cringey. Gotta love that lady yelling “What the f-“ right after we see a kid’s head in the shot. Not that this behavior is limited to Texans fans, which is why I don’t take my kids to NFL games.

That kind of thing can happen anywhere.  People are wild.  Can't shield them from the world. Gotta take them somewhere.

Better to happen when you are around in my opinion.

Well yeah but just because it can happen anywhere doesn’t mean I’m going to take them someplace where it is basically 100% going to happen when it is avoidable. And to be clear, it’s not just the language that keeps me from taking them to NFL games, it’s that plus the drunkenness, fighting, etc. We go to baseball games and other sporting events all the time, it’s just unfortunately NFL games that tend to be the worst. Once they’re teenagers we’ll probably go.

Edit to add: took one of my kids to get a donut a couple days ago and had to listen to some dude cussing up a storm with his co-workers in the donut shop. It happens. Sucks but it happens. Less and less common decency and respect around these days. I can’t imagine being an adult and being vulgar around a 6 yr old in a donut shop.

I don't disagree.  I would just rather the kids deal with something like that when you are around to guide them or set an example than being thrown out into the world and the first time they see something like that, they panic.

Sounds like you are doing a great job, and I am generalizing here.  Not attacking you or anything like that.  Balance in all things.  Helicopter parents have their heart in the right place, just doesn't prepare them for the real world in my opinion.

    • Yuck.  I still kind of like Herbert but these playoff performances are rough....
    • I feel like this was the case with River and McDermott defenses as well, we just had the jimmies and the joes to overcome these deficiencies with all pro players at edge and linebacker positions.  Even then, was extremely frustrated in 2015 when we'd let team come back from 20+ pt deficits playing prevent only to barely win at the end.
    • We need to move on soon and just use Bryce as a bridge to find our next guy. I'd like to see how this offense works with Canales hand picking his own guy. Bryce holds this offense back a lot considering you draft the first pick to carry your team and be your best player. We invested heavily for Bryce and need everything to go right just to have him look like a solid game manager sometimes. When he plays well he can look decent or mid, but when he plays bad he looks like a bottom 5 qb in league (backups included). It's not worth it, especially if we need to pay him soon, which means we have to skimp all over the roster. If the defenses don't hand it to us on a silver platter Atlanta style then we struggle big time. Defenses don't respect the offense at all. With Cam we could have the worst offensive talent and I'd still think we had a shot in any game we played. If Bryce is facing a 3rd and 10 I pretty much wave the white flag and don't think we can make that first down.
