Mcshay was on the bill simmons pod yesterday and breaks down a lot of the qb prospects.  Loves the oregon kid, still likes lsu kid a lot as well.  Not high on Allar at all.

With Fernadez he says he plays in RPO quick decision offense and its hard to evaluate him because of the 30 throws a game maybe 5 are nfl worthy.   But he is big strong and mobile.

I absolutely will be watching Indiana vs iowa today

Oregon vs PSU should be 2 QB prospects going at it. I do like Moore a lot, but I’d be surprised if he declares as a redshirt sophomore.

Just going on eye test without looking at stats or metrics or whatever

Mateer looks and plays like Herbert and Mayfield.

Mendoza reminds me of Mariota, I would be worried about him the most in the NFL. Just kinda that same offense Mariota was in, it may take a while to transition

Sellers, some mix of Cam Ward and Roethlisberger, if he could be accurate passing downfield... the rest of this season is critical but as of right now I would be worried if we took him as well

Nussmeier reminds me of Kirk Cousins

I want no part of Manning, Allar or the Clemson guy

What did you think?  Iowa arguably has one of the stingiest defenses year in and year out.  Not the pristine stat line Mendoza had been putting up, but a more realistic one. That said, not too shabby at all.  One of the best defenses he will see all season and on the road.

Two passes tells me this kid has what it takes--2:07 and 6:25. Yeah, he had a pick while getting blown up on an A gap blitz, but still was just slightly high.  This kid's accuracy is freaking rare.  Both of his miscues were results of OL failures.

Most QBs would be satisfied with the numbers for this game.  This is a poor outing for Mendoza.

Check out Dante Moore vs Penn St on the road.

I thought he looked good all things considered.  Made some big boy throws, has smooth mechanics and moves and sees well in the pocket.  Its not a frantic style like we are seeing here.  Will he be a good nfl qb?  Too early to tell but he looks like a prospect.

The kid from Oregon is legit.  Dude is fearless and has a arm

Allar, who I was high on before the season, looks completely lost

I agree Allar feasts on lesser opponents and shrinks versus the big dogs.  He's not QB1 material.  Moore seems to be a duel threat guy, mostly.  I like what little I've seen, but the guys that run a lot use that as a crutch.  I'd rather have a pocket guy that's mobile than a QB looking to run as soon as the pocket gets mucked up.   Mendoza took some shots last night and still stood poised in the pocket. He didn't get happy feet or bail as soon as the OL started to collapse.  Granted that willingness to stay in the pocket lead a couple sacks, strip sack (own recovery) and a pick, but unlike a certain QB in Charlotte, he didn't get rattled and marched down the field for the game sealing TD not too long after the INT.

You sure Dante Moore at Oregon is purely a dual threat? I think you might be thinking of Taylen Green. Moore has 1200 passing yards 14 passing TDs, 1 INT, with a 75% completion rate vs 122 rushing yards 0 rushing TDs on the season. Mendoza has 6 more carries so far for example.

No, it's based on projection at the next level.  Sellers definitely has the highest ceiling, but he also has one of the lowest floors.

No more SC players. Sellers is another AR in the making. Projection alone is a dangerous way to select a pro qb. I will stick to the production on the field and then project that to the nfl.

Safest bets as of now are: 1) Mateer, 2a)Mendoza 2b) Moore 3) Nussmeir 4) Leavitt

I am leery as heck about Allar, Sellers, Beck and Klubnik.

Allar is so frustrating. I get he doesn’t make many weapons at PSU but he disappears in big games. His arm is impressive though…

    • Who were we going to trade up with? The Dolphins wanted Proctor, the Rams were vehement on taking Ty Simpson, the Ravens wanted Ioane, and the Bucs werent trading with us except for maybe a kings ransom. Even if we wanted to move, we had no partner. Moot point.
    • Devin Lloyd is a stud lb but who is next to him? Prince and Nic should improve. Lee was super value but i am not counting this fourth round chicken yet. I would expect some improvement; hope to eat my words w/ a top ten D.
    • I mean I agree about diminished Cam probably still being viable. Even though it gave a preview of how teams would defend the pass against a limited QB. There was an issue with the upcoming contract he was due to get and his expectations vs the new reality of his physical status - that people tend to  overlook when looking back on it  It had an effect on things I believe   But I do have to ask… what about Tepper’s second major move? fuging clueless   I mean I would take even an injured  Cam over Bryce all day long.
