Does Canalas trust Bryce?

He was hired because nobody else would take the job. The whisper bs was given him by pundits and fans to try to reason as to why he was here in the first place.

I would be shocked if anyone with options would take the job. There will always be someone that wants a shot at having 1 of only 32 jobs in the world.

That's how the Raiders were able to to keep selling people on their coaching job in the insane Al Davis days towards the end.

Someone will take. But it will be another no name that can't get a job with another team.

 Keep telling yourself that.

It was Tepper, Morgan and the search committee. They hired Morgan's friend like Fritz hired his friend in Morgan. I don't get your angle at all.

No body would take the job when Tepper tied both jobs to Young and ended up with who would which was first Morgan and then DC.

It wasn't Young everyone worth a damn wanted to avoid. Its the man who holds Monday morning meetings with the headcoach.

I don't really care at this point. DC didn't bring poo but Dalton and Hooker. He didn't drsft Young but absolutely signed up to be tied to him. He can spin it however he wants but those are facts. Maybe he will learn from this and stop making poor decisions...if he gets another shot after this mess. He could go back to being stuck as a QB coach if it keeps up the pace.

DC wouldn't really have anything to do with bringing in a backup qb.  That's GM.

Who was hell bent on forcing the new staff onto his Young mistake which also was the pivot point of the 23 staff implosion, even if it was poorly conceived. It was always both or one being an extension of the other.

I think the playbook is limited because of Bryce. You saw the playbook open more with Dalton last year and will see it again when Bryce gets benched

This. Honestly Bryce handcuffs and offense. Defenses are just playing bland, vanilla concepts against us because they can. They don't feel pressured to force anything. Just focus on filling gaps to stop the run and play tight coverage because you're not worried about the field being stretched and let Bryce make mistakes. I've said it over and over but Bryce basically turns the entire field into the redzone because we can't threaten the defense vertically.

It's even more simple than that. I don't think the playbook magically opens up for Dalton (and a 40-7 loss among other losses proves it), but defenses don't need to even execute well.

Disguise your coverage every snap and as soon as the ball is snapped, it's like Young is wearing a blindfold. He has no idea what to do. I blame him for a lot of that but it's not just him. It's Canales insisting on throwing the ball every 2nd-and-short, every 3rd-and-short, poo like that.

Like I said, they deserve one another.

The pivot came when the knives came out. The staff imploded from within and Fitterer got exposed as a fraud that wasted the draft assets on the wrong qb and hired the wrong coaches. Last year was an attempt to see if it was possible to salvage some of the draft assets and assess who stays and who goes. But what they ended up with was all they could get as coaches who would accept Teppers conditions. If it was only about Young he doesn't get benched after 2 games with only Dalton as plan B.

The knives came out when the guy they traded the farm for was imploding while the HC gave up carring. If it wasn't about Young then they would have gotten a better backup that could finish the year...just like this year. He was literally benched to switch it up and try again. No one with eyes could think that Dalton is playing close to a full season.

He was benched with zero plans for him to start ever again. If not for Andy's accident he would had to compete for his job this past offseason. That's if he was still here.
