Observer Young needed to be more than turnover fred

I’m half joking when I say someone from the huddle could step out there and do what he does, but I’m not.  Because what he does is exactly what I expect from someone with little to no experience trying to make things happen.  The way even when he tries to avoid mistakes, he seems to find them.  Watching him try to run away from a defender twice his size and still get hawked down, then him try to do the smart thing and tuck the ball away, only for the said defender to punch the ball out with ease.  Watching him scramble out of the pocket, get squared up by a defender, one on one, and then he tries to juke one way. No, the other way.  No maybe I should’ve went the first way.  Then trip over himself and fall forward while fumbling.  The Jessie Bates game - those picks he threw?  You see most QBs might make a throw like that a couple times a season.  He has done it 2 or 3 times a game, multiple games in his career.  He did it twice against Jacksonville this season.  It all looks like someone who is new to this.  It looks like someone who has no idea what they’re doing and are in way over their head.

Bryce Young has been handed starting gigs since he was a kid and his parents paid for him to get the best coaching available. It cannot be understated what playing for Saban and Alabama did for him in terms of his perception in the media. The hype he has received and the pass he still receives is like nothing I've ever seen. You would think he willed a mediocre Alabama team to a national championship and won it largely on his own. Cam Newton did that. And he still wasn't regarded as the best QB in his class. Bryce showed up to the combine and hid out in a hoodie. He knew full well what he was doing and you best believe his parents were in his ear advising him to do so too. He looks like a guy who has never had to face real adversity in his life. And the Panthers have only reinforced that and further coddled him. The results speak volumes.

Damn straight on all of that.

    • There were times Zavala didn't even get touched and his guy flew around him. The play where Bryce threw it into the DL's facemask he got blasted by Zavala's assignment. Sucks too because Tremble was the right read over the middle. He looked outright overwhelmed like his rookie season all over again. It's very concerning seeing multiple players regress, especially on the offense. That's supposed to be Canales' wheelhouse.
    • Every team that doesn't have a qb of that nature is looking for one. That's about 28 teams.
    • Was listening to fan 99.9 this morning on YouTube, and the guy speaking was spot on with what Carolina needs. We have to have a qb that’s a program builder/changer. A qb that can come in and pretty much change the culture of the program.    Man, we had that with Cam. For this thing to work, the panthers have to find a QB of that nature. A Cam, a Burrow, Allen, etc. It’s tough to find, but the panthers have to find that. I don’t trust Morgan to find that player though
