If Dave had any managers abilities he would be doing some form of that yesterday before they started cutting guys to force hands.

I guess at least something is entertaining with Panthers football this year now.

Per usual with Tepper's Panthers the entire approach feels wrong. Tepper wants in on all the stuff he should be seeing himself out of and then wants to be hands off on the stuff that he needs to be stepping in on.

Maybe he is just a drama queen living his best life

It would be nice if we had beat writers who were good at their jobs and not just regurgitating whatever the team said.

...Instead we have David Newton.

Hell he is the beat guy and the biggest rumor/gossip was from a chick at the Athletic.

Trading up for DJ Johnson was pre-planned

The Panthers' trade up for Oregon pass rusher DJ Johnson received a lot of criticism around the league and especially around the city. He only had one full year of playing the position and only posted six sacks. That said, the combination of his freakish athleticism and raw power are what gave the front office conviction to go up and get him.

More interestingly, Frank Reich told Fitterer and Dan Morgan in the video to go back to his office at the end of the night to look at the whiteboard where it had Johnson's name circled with a note beside it to trade up. This shows that they didn't panic when pass rushers were starting to fly off the board and just aimlessly traded up to make sure they got one. They went up to get a guy they liked and planned on doing so.

go to minute 32  "good player"

we are so fuged

This description sounds eerily similar to XL as well. Panthers have been terrible at drafting projects, guys who have little to no college experience or production, and they flame out in 2-3 years. XL is on his way out the door next year too. Such a trash organization.
