(Potential) Top 2026 HC Candidates

I'm gonna be a "no" on most of not all of the retreads, specifically no on Smith, Kingsbury, and Joseph; absolute "hell no" on Gruden or Flores. Both had issues beyond just bad coaching.

Ixnay on the college coaches too, especially anyone who wants any sort of power beyond just standard head coaching power. I've seen that movie and never wanna see it again.

Still prefer offensive coaches to defensive ones but I'll look at both sides.

Definitely gotta make a change in college scouting though. We need a heavy hitter there.

I still prefer a full season evaluation on Canales. It's at least possible he could be successful with some staff changes and, most likely, a different quarterback.

His biggest weakness at this point seems obvious to me: his offseason preparation is weak at best.

Maybe bring another formerly successful head coach on staff to show Canales how it's done.

What were Flores’ issues? All I remember were him clashing with his ownership over macro team decisions.

He got some complaints from players too. Don't remember all the details but I remember it being rough.

I don't think he's suited for a head coaching job. DC is probably his ceiling.

The lawsuit would be something. And lol I believe Wilks joined it. So double whammy

And though I was a Wilks guy I in no way believe his being passed over was due to racism. 
It was the hard on to have an offensive head coach and move up to get the franchise QB, and that he would not acquiesce to Tepper every time - it seems clear to me there are things that were stacked against him.

I would really like to see this Canales offense with Carson Beck. It’s most likely he and Allar will be battling for the top two picks though so we’ve really got to continue to suck. 
 

I’d take Beck first, re-sign Dowdle, get a small quick receiver in the 3rd round, make sure the lines contracts are good, and I think we would have a window. Move Bryce for a 5th round pick.

Allar is sliding down the draft board… Beck has to continue to prove it to be back in those 1st round talks.

Beck will be a Top 5 pick and it's not really even debatable at this point. Allar will be a Top 5 pick as well. Based on what I've seen out of UGA, the issues with Beck's play last year were not all his fault. He clearly took a lot of heat for it but I watch a lot of college football, and there isn't a better draft eligible QB in the country than Beck right now. That's a hill I'll die on.

Plenty of games left for them to go up on the draft board. Beck is trending up and will be in 1st talks if he continues his level of play. Allar can't win the big games and isn't great throwing deep. His accuracy is terrible on vertical routes, but again plenty of games left to prove he can do it. I don't think Allar will be a 1st round pick and if Beck is 1st round, I think it will be late 1st.

Not saying your wrong and im right. Just giving my opinion.

Will be fun to revisit around draft time. Who knows maybe with more games played I'll begin to match your thinking, but currently Moore, Mendoza, and Mateer are above those guys in my book.
