The Jets are also probably looking at the game against us as their one real shot at not going 0-17 so there’s that

Oh yeah, if the Jets lose again this week, we are toast.  They will be licking their chops.  Atlanta in their house?  Nah man, they rough us up down there even when we are good.  Besides, they will have a HUGE chip on their shoulder from their beat down at BOA.  I say the closest thing to a sure win the rest of the season will be the Saints in Charlotte.  Outside of that, have a seat on the struggle bus, it's going to be a long season.

Something has to give, either we notch road win #2 in the Bryce young era or they get a home victory versus a horrible road team.  If this game were in Charlotte, I'd give us the edge.  Just like if the game yesterday was in Florida, there's no way we come back.

Before the game started, my wife and I were discussing the team and if anything was going to happen for them. And my take is that this was going to be one of those games where you're going to learn where each of the teams are headed. The Dolphins have been in a downward spiral, we've been trying to break out of the cellar we've been living in.

A Dolphin win on the road might pull their team out of the dive and save their coach's job. It could bring them back to some sort of upward or at least leveling off trajectory. A Dolphin win would probably also completely crush the Panthers hopes for any growth this season and put Canales and crew on notice that it was time to polish up the resume`.

A Panthers win would buy Canales more time and would give the players, owners and fanbase something to buy into, one more step up the stairs leading out of the darkness and maybe, just maybe back into a competitive light. A Panthers win would probably mean that one or more heads were probably going to roll sooner rather than later in Miami's coaching staff. 

That first quarter... man, that first quarter... it said every damned thing we've been saying here for the last three seasons. There was no longer any denying it. And then we found ourselves down 17-zip.

And then, well, THAT happened.

Canales coached that team into a comeback, the second largest in Panthers history, on a day when there was every danged reason to pack it in and call it a day. He'll survive this week. I'm not so sure Miami isn't having a called to the carpet moment this morning.

We aren't out of cellar yet. But it's looking better. Holding serve on the home field gets you a lot in the NFL. 

Let's enjoy the win. They've been rare.

Even though this week's game is at home, I don't think we beat the Cowboys unless the defense can keep Dak rattled. If Dak gets dialed in, this thing could get ugly.

      If you're looking for a pat on the back it sounds good in theory until you realize they also had the 2023 Panthers as the top draft class.

      Going into the 2003 and 2015 seasons we were supposed to be the joke of the league each time. In 2003, John Fox was supposed to still be in rebuild mode. We had a guy named Peppers on the defensive line who was supposed to be pretty good. We had Rodney Peete as our starting QB and a line that was a lot of hope and not much experience. Our new running back was a guy the Redskins, errrr Commanders, had jettisoned for being too old. We had a good kicker and writers thought that was needed because there were going to be more field goals than touch downs. Heck, it looked like they were right up until just before halftime of that first game when we had to yank Rodney Peete and put in some Cajun duded whose name couldn't be pronounced. And Steve Smith? He wasn't Smitty yet. Moose Muhammad, well, he was close to being written off as a bust. You know how that turned out. And then in 2015, we had Cam Newton, who was electrifying to watch but hadn't really won anything yet. There was an offensive line in front of him that looked like it was made in a defunct Swiss cheese factory and our big hope on offense was the great Kelvin Benjamin. And then he got taken out for the year with a knee injury in training camp. Ted "Feet of Lightning, Hands of Stone" Ginn became our default go to guy beside our next best hope, yeah, Devin Funchess. Our defense was pretty good, a scrappy bunch with frikkin' awesome linebacker play and a cornerback who had done more than drank the Kool-Aid, but had snorted the powder. He played like a superhero and became sort of a bat-man during the season. By the Super Bowl he had completely lost his freaking mind, though, and managed to talk his way out of a contract with the team next year. No one was expecting us to win the NFCSouth that season, much less almost go undefeated and into the Super Bowl. So, 2026? Who knows? But our best seasons came when no one had a reason to believe in us, except us.

      it's not so much this personal vendetta against the Carolina Panthers as it is more about Bryce Young never not once been in the same conversation with the top 15 or even top 20 Qbs in the NFL ..just saying
