He signed to the PS 10 days ago so he's a little bit into the playbook. He probably would have looked better than Dalton this past Sunday just playing backyard football lol.

He is what he is at this point but he is a guy you could start for a game and compete with a strong run game.

If this were a serious franchise we would be merit based instead of this pitiful investment based culture we have under the Tepper's Morgan and Canales. At the same time that isn't even consistent because we had Xavier Legette fully in the doghouse for a few games. We have standards for some then we don't have standards and coddle others. It's a disgrace.

Gotcha. I'm not sure he would have tho. Still, either one should be mostly handing the ball off to a RB. Andy was bad but after watching Plumber I know it can still get worse.

It isn’t going to be consistent with your QB that you sold all the way out for vs a mere underperforming WR.

We have understood the deal with that QB room for two years. During and after 2023 many, you included, me included, were begging for someone to compete for the QB job and complaining that it was just handed to Bryce from day one without him having to win it.

Obviously there is a difference between the leeway for a #1 pick and a #32 pick. But our decision makers have gone out of their way to extend the runway for both Bryce Young and 38 year old Andy Dalton who was clearly washed when the Saints moved on from him while only bringing in trash UDFA's or other practice squad level QB's. At the end of the day either we have standards across the entire roster or we have no standards at all.

That hardline approach doesn’t always serve best interests in real world situations. I get it.
The whole uproar over essentially giving Chuba an extra game to validate himself doesn’t really move the needle much with me.
I was irritated along with most people when Chuba came out on the first series against the Bills. Just think it is being overblown in service of the argument against Canales

There wouldn’t be an Andy situation if not for Bryce and that whole clusterfug. I never have liked it but I never have liked having Bryce under these conditions. Circumstances.
That poo is coming from ownership and a coach that would buck that is a coach that would not have been hired.

IOW it would probably be the same with Canales replaced, unless Tepper said it wouldn’t. And if not Andy then some other non threat.

With Canales I'm not nearly as concerned about his mismanagement of the RB situation (which you could argue is being overblown to a degree yes) as I am with how woefully inept he is at preparing coaching and managing his team on gamedays against opponents and their coaching staffs with winning records. The team has been blown off the field too many times under his watch now.

But I will concede that even if we fire him we will just end up with another figurehead of sorts. It's plainly obvious or at least it should be that our ownership is still meddling and pulling strings.

It seems that way.

I agree on the game day stuff in general. I have other criticisms also.  Or questions.

I mean I could argue that Renfro should be active too, but I am accepting that it isn’t always fair. By that I mean BY is the one that can’t hit him. And prioritizing snaps for younger players is arguable but I haven’t seen a lot out of them either. Horn is more promising to me than Coker at this point but again, the QB play has been bad, and the running game has been more of a focus too.

    • I would write “give remmers tight end help” on a yellow sticky note and stuck it in shulas playbook the night before superbowl 50.
    • And don’t worry about Bryce he will be great… Peyton Manning had a horrible rookie year too 😂
    • Nothing wrong with it at all until you start telling others they are bad fans or not fans. But you are the good fan because you never say negative stuff about the team.    I did many years of that type of uninformed fanning because there really was no info and coverage like there is with the internet.    I mean, I used to go to the store and get Street and Smith’s annual football issue. That was about the extent of what you could get if you didn’t live in a big city with sportswriters covering and reporting.  There was no video to look at or replay the games and if you didn’t live in the market you could only rarely see your football team play.    TI have fanned since being a kid in the early 1960s, and as late as 1995 - ‘97 I lived in Atlanta and good luck getting more than 3 or 4 games a year on TV. No radio either. No print coverage outside of an AP recap and box unless they played Atlanta.  People today that have always had the network connection don’t know.    I wasn’t very educated about the Panthers until I finally got internet.
