running backs are a dime a dozen too, its no real reason to put any eggs in the Brooks basket. you can draft his replacement or bring in a cheap vet and if Brooks plays well thats gravy

Why do we always let our good players go ?   CMC was injured and we let him go . Now we face him Monday night .  We know what Chuba can do . We know what Rico can do .  We signed Chuba so why not sign Rico .   we don't know what we have in Brooks ,  Let him and Eteine go at it in camp . Keep the better player .  Don't let your proven players leave .

CMC was a very logical(and correct) decision. We obviously squandered the exceptional return we gathered from that trade but that's just Tepper Panthers.

As far as "proven" players.....well Brooks hasn't proven anything. So he definitely wouldn't fit into the "letting proven players leave" argument.
