  • In a meeting with reporters in 2019 (about a year after he bought the team), Tepper said he “will not stand long-term mediocrity.” ESPN.com+2https://www.wbtv.com+2

  • He expressed frustration that the Panthers had never posted consecutive winning seasons and said he “despises mediocrity … especially when it never seems to end.” https://www.wbtv.com

  • In a transcript, he emphasized that he wants to build a standard that will be “built and sustained … sustained excellence.” Carolina Panthers+1

  • After a particularly bad loss, he also said, “long-term mediocrity … would not be tolerated under his watch.”

  • If our owner doesn't see that Bryce's performance through his first 3 seasons is an example of "long-term mediocrity, then he really doesn't understand the meaning of the term. He'd be making a very unwise decision if he forces Morgan to pick up that 5th year option.

The problem is that Bryce would have to improve immensely to be considered overall mediocre. He's had a handful of good games, quite a few mediocre games, and a poo ton of bad games. The net average is definitely bad.

holy poo Im listening now and they refuse to poo on Canales, making excuses for bryce (play calling, wrs, refs) and are saying we still are showing real "progress". This is awesome.

To be fair the team is showing progress. Defensively we are so much better than last year. Offensively outside of Bryce we are better too. Dc sucked balls last night but I'm willing to give him time outside of Bryce. I think he is the best coach we could expect to have next year.

Now they are still talking about last week and the last 10 games of last season.  This is awesome.  Mac literally just said hes not ready to pull the plug and asks who are going to bring in?  Wants to let this season play out before making a decision.

Its like dude what the fug are you watching thats different from 98% of us?  Bryce aint fuging it.  He could average 300 the last 5 games and you still have to bring in someone else.  Its 3 years of fuging garbage, the data is there not to mention the fuging eyeball test.  Charlotte media sans mike kaye are all cucks and its been that way since at least 1988 when I started really reading it beginning with the Hornets

I'll give anything for mediocrity now.

Atleast under mediocrity we experienced some winning seasons and Super bowls.

What we have now is futility. So in that aspect Tepper was right the mediocrity is no more.

Progress on the defensive side. Regression on the offensive passing side.

This perfectly sums up our situation. Under Tepper's watch we went from from long-term MEDIOCRITY to long-term FUTILITY. Extending Bryce will only make extend the worst era in Panther history. He needs to let Canales and Morgan bring in a new starter NEXT SEASON.
