What?? But he only had 18 completions and it took him 30 attempts to get those?? Plus if you take away his 2 longest passes who know how low his numbers really are??

Am I doing it right?

All of this sounds funny until you look at Love's numbers and passing charts... The people who are unhappy with Bryce generally are harping on wanting the kind of passes love is throwing. Half his passes were 10 yards or longer and almost a third more than 20 yards.

I do think that broadly some fans do not realize just how down passing is. The pendulum is swinging to a different type of game. But Bryce is still waaaaay under expectations even considering that. However he's had some great games in the last couple weeks (and one huge stinker) so hopefully he's gonna be able to put it together for a playoff push.

You have to use some common sense as well.  What type of offense are we running and what is the defense running.  If screens are working why would you force your offense into something else.  20 pass attempts average over 10 per attempt is a good passing offense.

Glancing at the most recent passing charts, Goff has 4 out of his 34 attempts go over 10 yard, Dart has 1 out of his 24, Allen 2 of his 23 and they were still under 15 yards, Rodgers 2 of his 21, Herbert 2 of his 20, Geno 2 of his 23, Darnold 1 of his 26 went exactly 10 and none when over, Baker 2 of his 28, Taylor 2 of his 33, Cousins 2 of his 33, Mahomes 4 of his 34.

It seems to me Canales is running a quick pass offense with a couple of deep threats to keep the defense honest.  Seems like a lot of NFL offenses are running this defensive trend of running a 2 high defense.

The charts are going to vary based on gameplan and what the defense is giving.  Look at our charts from Week 11, Week 6, Week 2 and see how different they look.

    • After watching Dan for 3 yrs now, I think I understand his plan. It’s a simple plan that should work for the long run.     I saw some of this last yr. Dan wants a vet and a young player at each position. I really think we go OT if one they like there. Moton is aging, Icky will not be back until 27, if ever. We need to get ahead of the tackle problem
    • You are just stressing too much about these particular positions. You want to upgrade from Bryce and I understand that but you aren’t going to really get that without getting into a bidding war for a QB2 potential QB1 like Willis. You could possibly trade for Mills or the backup for Chicago but they are still gambles and their teams will won’t decent picks.  Again the Eagles thought KP was a capable enough backup to trade for him once their backup was hurt and won a Super Bowl with him as QB2. The point is most teams aren’t rolling with some stud QB2/3 that is going to push even a bottom tier starter. They are better off the building their roster in other areas. The Rams are rolling with Bennett right now as QB2 for example.  The goal is winning absolutely. We overachieved last year even with stumbling into the playoffs. Another year and this staff needs to take the next step in building a team. Will Grier has little to no impact on that….
    • Three straight first round WRs is straight up Matt Millen poo. Considering the draft capital we have tied up on Bryce after that trade we would basically have spent damn near all of our draft capital in recent years on QB and WR just to put one of the most anemic passing offenses in the league on the field. Clown show poo.
