Reminder: A team lead by Matt Rhule/Steve Wilks got us this result…..

Im trying to stay positive. Switching coaches every year or 2 is a recipe for being a bottom dweller. Canales took over the worst dumpster fire in the league and may get us to a winning record year 2 with a midget QB. I also think Morgan is drafting well and filling the roster with depth and talent. We would he stupid to mess with it right now. QB wise, yes we need to do something. Can't argue that. At least bring in a draft pick and capable Vet.

Patriots have had 3 HCs the past 3 seasons.

The NFL is about 2 things really.  Hit on the QB and HC.   Until you do that, or hit a home run on one of the two at least....very little matters.

Also add in you should know what you have after 2 years with coaching and 3 years with players. Well crap, 0 for 0

The fear that cutting a coach after 2 years is a negative is wildly overplayed around here. It's the standard. Yes Reich was fired in his first year but that's also forgetting/discounting all the crazy crap they had going on in house at that time. The only crazy part of that is it wasn't a complete purge.

One thing I think people are missing is if we win we will have a winning record at 9-8. It’s not like we would win the division at 7-10 or 6-11.

New York won a Super Bowl after finishing the regular season with 9 wins. Not saying we will, but when did 9 wins become unrespectable?

Bold talk from a fan whose team is used to 5 wins per season

I think what a lot of people might be saying is that just because we may win the division and finish with a winning record, this team has not arrived and still has many flaws and holes to fill.

Not that 9 wins, a division championship, and a playoff appearance are to be scoffed at as insignificant.

Rhule also had 2 superior qbs and blew it with both darnold and baker. I do honestly think we would be a lot better with either of those 2 plus Canales.

Darnold, baker>>>> young

Canales/Morgan >>>>>> rhule, Wilks, fitterer

Just look at what happened to the vikings this year when they went with a qb that sucks. You can qb whisper all you want but doesn't matter if the qb is deaf.

We need a new qb period

But I fully expect to lose next week and lose the division but the bucs will get blasted out of the playoffs immediately

No but it’s a pretty good stepping stone for the 2nd season of a rebuild. We weren’t supposed to go to the playoffs or Super Bowl this year. We were supposed to finish 6-8 wins and not be eliminated by Thanksgiving. We have surpassed that.

I don't really believe in stepping stones from season to season. Not on a team level. Every season is its own unique thing.

We are currently at 8 wins and there is a decent chance we will stay at 8 wins. There is a decent chance we will get to 9 wins instead.

We have gotten fortunate in a couple of games, and we have taken advantage of situations in some games. Nothing wrong with that, and that's how the ball bounces sometimes. We can equally thank the Bucs for being a complete dumpster fire in the 2nd half of the season for how we are still in contention past Thanksgiving.

I bet if I go back again and pull up 2022 threads I'll find the same people in here saying Baker was the worst QB in the league and needed to be replaced. Then I bet if I go back a year further, I'll find the same people in here saying Darnold was the worst QB in the league and needed to be replaced.

Beginning to sense a pattern here.

well, I have always said Sam Darnold is Sam Darnold.  Which he always proves to be.  NYJ Sam was at BOA Sunday.

I think Bryce criticism is a one of one.  Because he is unicorn.

    • okay I found this and it sounds like my hopes for the first surgery being not such a great job seems like it could be actual reality.  I only hoped because that would give a better chance for recovery and ia a possible scenario so I just thought it could be possible. Had no real evidence of it. But I’ll be damned.    This is a detailed report of Brooks’ surgery and the condition of his knee after the failed repair.     https://x.com/jmthrivept/status/2055743129408704806?s= Sparked by some very good questions by @CoachspeakIndex, here’s some info on Jonathon Brooks: 1. Speculation that the first graft/ACLR by Dr. Cooper didn’t “take” or at least was too lax, leading to failure and re-tear. Brooks dealt with issues cutting, progressing in his rehab into the early stages of 2024 and then re-tore it late 2024, requiring a second ACLR in January 2025 (essentially revision). Notably, CAR prolonged Brooks’ rehab process through Sept-Oct due to issues progressing into the next stages of rehab. 2. Second surgery performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, who has extensive experience with revisions. He did a double bundle technique, harvesting graft from Brooks’ left patellar tendon and a strip of his right IT Band (his right patellar tendon had been utilized for the prior graft in 2023. The double bundle technique significantly increases rotational stability of the knee, leading to a stronger and more secure graft/reconstruction. Also to note, Brooks’ surgery wasn’t significantly delayed, meaning that the tunnels from his prior ACLR were in good shape and they didn’t need to perform bone grafts to fill in (would have delayed 2nd surgery by 5-6 months). Essentially, reading the tea leaves tells me that everything else except for the graft itself was still in good quality within his knee. Good sign for future.  3. Typically, you see a performance increase anywhere from 16-20 months post-revision. Brooks will be ~21 months out from his second surgery by the time Week 1 hits. His knee should be more stable and stronger this time around, with adequate time for healing and return to all movement patterns. I’m not viewing this situation as a typical “Player __ had TWO ACL tears, he’s cooked” situation. Rather, I’m viewing it as the first procedure failed, but the second procedure is significantly stronger and should allow him to return to form this time around. I don’t know why it posted as a link but there it is.
    • Jackie, any more reps tomorrow, or is that it for this session?  thanks for the work
    • How can you say they aren’t trying to win now with all the moves made in free agency? Or is trading first round picks the only way to be win now? I’d be fine never trading another first round pick again, win now be damned.
