The more interesting story re: Shockey

Exactly, young QB's to worry about and can you imagine the press when Steve Smith breaks his face?

lol maybe he should punch some more people. Ken Lucas played some damn good football after that.

Either ways, as far as I know Shockey generally gets along with his teammates and something tells me him and Smitty would get along fine.

Okay so two sides here:

#1: Don't want Shockey because he has a reputation of an attention ***** and an asshole, he's injury prone, he's over the hill, etc.

#2: We want Shockey because our team was 2-14 last year and we got terrible production from the TE position. With his history with our O-Coordinator, he could be an immediate impact player, if only in the short term.

I vote #2 if he's cheap.

Relating this to the CBA is like seeing a flash of light in the night sky and thinking it was an UFO.

Ever think maybe Chud said to JR, "Hey do you mind flying him in to talk, I used to coach him." JR trying to show respect to his new coaches says "sure why not just know we are not signing anyone until the CBA is worked out."

I think that is very likely

    • Some people will shift the goal posts but he does still have to consistently help the team win, eventually. Not only help but be the reason. That's what franchise QB's do.
    • One of the Carolina Panthers' newest defenders thinks their pass rush can go from worst to first. ESPN's David Newton recently chatted with outside linebacker Pat Jones II, who signed with the Panthers as a free agent earlier this offseason. Jones comes over from an awfully impressive Minnesota Vikings defense—one that ranked first in takeaways (33), fourth in sacks (49) and second in QB pressure rate (44.4 percent) this past season. And despite a historically-bad campaign by Carolina's defense in 2024, the 26-year-old seems to believe his new unit can be similar—or even better—than his last. "I definitely think we could do something similar, if not better," Jones said, via Newton. "I've seen it before, so I know what it looks like. I look around the building and see we have exactly what it takes to do that." https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/panthers/2025/05/24/panthers-pat-jones-vikings-espn/83840667007/?taid=683219b347846900018fa10a&utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=trueanthem&utm_source=twitter     It's the offseason.  Let hope spring eternal. (actually, I think we are much closer than this board thinks)
    • 5 total TDs against the Falcons was pretty good efficiency and he showed that ability to go off scripts and get 2 of those TDs rushing.  How many times did he deliver big time throws against pressure.  I agree we need to see this offense operate at high efficiency which starts with Bryce. When he does I hope the goals posts won’t shift to some other stat like QB sneaks lol
