Take the play calling duties from Dave. Much like Bryce its far too up and down. Gets cute at the worst times. 

I don't have a guy in mind though I do love McDaniels offense. If Bryce is your guy then I suppose the best west coast type you can find and plug him in. 

 

In addition pay the offensive line coach whatever he wants. Hes done a wonderful job this year.

I doubt Canales would be forced to do something like that considering how the season ended. 

And i don't think he'd make that decision himself either. Offensive minded head coaches don't like giving up play calling

I would fuging love McDaniels.  I seriously doubt Canales would agree to bringing him in, but there’s no doubt, he knows what he’s doing offensively and is a disciple of Shanahan, who in my mind is the best playcaller in the league.  I would be all over McDaniels to get him in here.  But again, I don’t see a) Dave wanting that dynamic and giving up playcalling duties and b) It would probably cost Izdik his job, which Dave also wouldn’t be a fan of.

Im not super familiar with Izdik tbh. Is he someone Dave is grooming or is he OC in name only and a glorified position coach and Analyst?

Im no expert, but it feels like the latter.  Dave has been asked multiple times about allowing him to call plays and to my knowledge he only allowed it for a game in the preseason.  So perhaps they’re grooming him to eventually become that, but it doesn’t feel like it’s for him to eventually do it here.  Prolly more to prepare him to become that elsewhere.  Definitely has felt like he’s more like a QC guy.

Well that's typically what gets most every coordinator their HC job if we're being fair. But only certain head coaches have proven they can do it at a high level. 

His main priority is game time management and building the type of locker room culture to implement his teachings across the board.

Even of McDaniels doesn't get another HC job he'll take an OC job for a team that's bringing him in to implement and run his offense. He's not coming here to call plays for Canales' offense.

The point would be to be a head coach. Help build and shape and develop a full roster not just call a mediocre offense.

I think you have to call the season a success given where we were. And have been for too long. 
Meaning it really would be tough to navigate taking power from Canales when the overall arrow is pointing up.
