The worst part about losing last night

Recommended Posts

I was at the game last night and that was the most energy I have seen in a long time. I would put it right next to the 03 Dallas game and 15 cardinals conference championship (I was at both).

It wasn’t just all of the effort from the fans but all of the legends that were there. Jake, Cam, Jonathan Stewart, Wesley Walls, Steve Smith, Muhsin Muhammad, Luke, Eugene Robinson, and a lot more.

At the end of the 4th Quarter, Jake, Smith, Walls and Moose all came out and beat the drum and the stadium was bouncing. Cam already hit the drum before the game but it later showed him in a press box trying to pump the crowd in the 4th quarter.

It just felt like all of that energy was for nothing, it felt like we let the legends down. I hope these guys in the locker room remembers the sting from this going into next season and put a bigger focus on the smaller things.

The worst part of last night was losing our franchise LT indefinitely and it's not even close. Next to franchise QBs these guys are the toughest to find/replace.

Moral victories are for suckers.

Yeah except for the fact that every time Nijman fills in for him or Moton it makes no difference. Not sure how much of a “franchise LT” ours actually is. I think a lot of people have rose colored glasses on.

What was the deal with the Wells Fargo building not changing its colors? I see people upset about it this morning.

Yeah it never changed last night. I thought it would once it got darker but it stayed red. There also wasn’t a flyover at the national anthem. I think it was due to the overcast. It never rained last night but it was really cloudy.

What’s funny is the towels. At the Tampa game they gave out black towels and left them in the cup holders and you could tell it was rushed because they were real poo quality, almost like painted with stencils and thrown in a pile. They handed out blue ones last night at the gate that were a lot nicer.

Says the guy who went to the game thinking the Panthers would actually win. Granted, it was closer than I thought, or nearly everyone else who didn't have rose colored glasses on, but the Rams advanced as expected.

Right because we haven’t beaten them a few weeks ago and the Rams don’t play worse on the road. How stupid of me to assume such. Especially when we take the lead in the 4th quarter after being down 14.

I guess I should just be miserable like you.

I'm not miserable, but realistic. This team made the playoffs on a tiebreaker because our entire division blows.  If the NFL got rid of the archaic division winner nonsense and strictly went with the 7 best records, we wouldn't have even been in the playoffs, let alone hosting a game.  It would be different if we went on a late season tear and were piping hot heading into the playoffs.  We lost 3 of 4.  Sorry, if I lost my rose color glasses that blocks out reality.  Speaking of horrible road teams, even if we did advance somehow, the first road game versus an elite team, we would have gotten completely smoked.  Take the feel good loss in the WC round. It would have only gotten uglier.

They're big boys that fully understand the dynamics of the game. Just like us, they'll be alright.

The worst thing about losing last night was not only losing the game, was losing Ickey. Many repercussions, some that may be long lasting, will happen as a result of his injury.

Ekwonu has always been an All Pro Guard playing LT.

Franchise LTs are expected to have above average pass pro on an island

Franchise CBs are expected to play disciplined and not get burned consistently by the top receivers in the league.

Franchise QBs are expected to command the end of 1 score games in the 4Q and get into FG range in under 1 minute with all 3 time outs.

Franchise WRs are expected to run precision routes and battle for the ball when one on one with the ability to rely on them on the final drive of games.

Panthers are 1 for 5 in the past 5 drafts.

    • I just dont get the worry over losing a practice squad player that just went undrafted. Everyone just made their selections. The chances of a team wanting to sign him to an active roster after not selecting him is very low.  If that interested they would have taken him late to evaluate in person. As far as I can tell two qbs were signed off another teams practice squad last season and they were both going in to their 5th season.
    • I enjoyed reading this thread and the usual banter that follows. The only silver lining I can identify right now is we do actually have a couple of young QB's behind him and we do have a nice roster on both sides of the ball built around the most important position. So if the team overall shows some promise but we still falter largely due to a lack of consistent passing output (again) hopefully the decision makers can be free to make the best decision for the team going forward after the conclusion of this upcoming season.
    • I don't really follow the team anymore due to a variety of reasons and consequently have largely stopped posting but I agree that this is a lovely website and community. This forum probably kept me around for years longer than I would've stuck otherwise because of how difficult it was to stop checking multiple times a day. Especially appreciate how lax the moderation tends to be compared to a lot of places, the crew here does a great job. Out of curiousity I decided to try making a new account (solely for testing purposes) to see what exactly is wrong with the sign up process. The issue seems to be that it never sends you an account verification email, thus making it impossible to complete registration. This is likely something to do with the email server upstream, hope it gets fixed. Also, lol
