Tremaine Edmunds to be released

Lloyd is who I want, but I think Edmonds is absolutely in his tier and gives us a pivot if either guy tries to strong arm us with contracts. TBF, both could, but at least we have a second option of equal value.

Give me either player here and I think we find our alpha, green dot LB. Draft another in rounds 1-3 too.

Devin Lloyd (28 in September)

4 year totals: 63 games - 436 tackles, 15 TFL, 18 QB hits, 3.5 sacks, 1 FF, 9 INT, 1 pro bowl

Tremaine Edmonds (28 in May)

4 year totals: 58 games - 437 tackles, 17 TFL, 9 QB hits, 3 sacks, 2 FF, 10 INT, 2 pro bowls

I like the market, but I think we could do better than Edmunds.

Being in Chicago, I've seen it up close.  He's a solid linebacker, but has had injuries and a lot of wtf lapses.  He's the classic overpaid solid starter that at one point was hyped as a top guy.  The defense actually played a bit better when he was out this past year.

Wouldn't hate it but don't necessarily want it.

Hold on, didn't Edmunds and Dan Morgan time overlap while at da bills?? I think Dan came to the Panthers in 2020, I swear getting old....... I know that bills and Edmunds had a falling out and they allowed a 24-25 talented 5 year pro to walk. Bills then found milanoe(sp...4th round?) and gave him money until injuries changed his path. He also a free agent too.

Ive seen bad reports on Edmunds, but his elite skill allowed him to overcome his bad habits. Now he's a little slower and the second team in his career is willing to let him walk. Bears had enough cap room too, 17mill for a ILB, Jesus you need to be on Luke's level....

Unless he's coming on the cheap and I know he's not, pass form me. Too many bad habits and poor judgements for a guy that is going to get 10 something mill.

    • Been here since middle school right when it started around 2003 after the charlotte.com one. Living outside of Carolina it was tough to find good Panthers content, news or analysis. And no one to talk to about it. This place gave me a lot though I don’t often post. In the later days, I particularly Loved PhillyB’s write ups. They were fire. Too bad I go let it go. I appreciate the hell out of @MHS831 @TheSpecialJuan @Jackie Lee and others who have been posting great content and keeping this place worth coming back to. Particularly during the offseason. Appreciate y’all!
    • Nice explanation, but I was just messing with you. Thought that would be obvious. I dont have the energy to keep on trolling. Last season I compared our situation with Bryce as a potential Alex Smith, but what we should be looking for is our version of Mahomes. Some people will read that as one sentence, to me that single sentence is equivalent to a half A4 explanationf of the teams pathway forward.
    • I dont know how much of his salary would come across and how much a trade would cost but I feel Kmet would be the sort of TE Canales and Morgan would like
