Not sure what they do if they are truly going to extend bryce.

If they are truly considering it at this juncture they will be lucky to get a job anywhere else with any level of comparable responsibility again.

The whole point of having a playoff window is to have maneuverability and that will cease with a BY contract extension for a QB who is realistically bottom 10 amongst all starters.

That was kindof the narrative yesterday on the national podcasts recapping FA.  They said it appeared we were going all in trying to win on the back of the rookie qb contract.  Most were positive a couple were like "yeah that is a risky bold move".

I like the signings and understand most of them but again if things go sideways not sure what happens

The cap is workable for sure although I think some people here are definitely hopped up on hopium going as far as calling it a myth and this and that.

Best case scenario would be to ride it out and let Bryce sink or swim. The pieces are in place and we will add even more with the draft. If he sinks which there is a high probability of it based on his physical limitations then you insert another QB into the fold in 2027 like the Seahawks did with Sam Darnold and keep it pushing.

But if the decision makers are not looking closely at the very glaring cautionary tale of Tua and the Dolphins and are mulling over sinking the cap on BY now that would be akin to career suicide for anyone involved IMO. I cannot rule out the possibility unfortunately.
