Is that Johnny Manziel? The 22nd overall pick in the draft is never gonna be the drafts biggest bust. Especially when Greg Robinson and Blake Bortles went 2nd and 3rd in the same draft class. LOL

Bortles wasnt good, but I’d take his career 100 times out of 100 over Johnny. Johnny still deserves a bust label (much like Clausen even though he was a second rounder) due to the overhyping of the kipers of the world. lol and this guy too..

It was obvious he was going to be a bust when he walked across the stage at the draft. That was the safest bet in the draft.

Yeah, I'd take his career over Maziel's too but I'd rather have a bust at #22 vs. a bust at #3. Bortles was the bigger bust because the #3 pick is much more valuable than the #22 pick. Greg Robinson was a huge bust too and he went #2. The biggest bust in the draft is usually gonna be a top 5 pick and almost always a top 10 puck simply because of the massively skewed values of higher picks.

Robinson was imo a bigger bust than Bortles. I forgot he even existed and had to look him up to remember.

I’d argue Robinson is the biggest bust because of going number 2 overall never being good at any point and being far more famous for his exploits as a drug dealer after his career than a football player.

 

But bortles played 8 years in the league, and at least had a couple of decent seasons, one of which included a playoff run that ended because of a very questionable call that favored the patriots. You could at least say there was some value to his career.
 

I’d call manziel a bigger bust than bortles though because of the hype he got, the fact that Cleveland did have to give up a third round pick to get him at 22, and what a disaster he was off the field (and not good on it). Skipping concussion protocol where he was supposed to stay in Cleveland to go party in Vegas while wearing a fake mulllet, glasses, and a mustache thinking he wouldn’t get recognized at a casino and night club.
