I agree with you. He has played the card all along of not knowing and it hurts his intigrity more than anything. Do you want someone that isn't even honest with himself, doesn't listen to his own coach staff? Had he fumbled in the National title game on that damn sneak after his coach publically said that he called his own shot there; he wouldn't even be in the top 10 discussion.

That's pretty lame dude, Auburn wouldnt' have been in the NC game in the first place without Cam. Why do you think these schools were willing to pay him in the first place?

Also, has Cam even talked about this at all? Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't remember him denying anything...I thought he just chose not to talk about it at all.

You may be right about that, but he will get drafted. Auburn will be screwed though...if this is true.

he will definitely get drafted.. and I don't really have a iron in the fire with this topic. If he really did have knowledge of everything, he better not have told those important people different..

someone will definitely draft him, even if they feel they are taking a huge gamble..

no doubt..

you're right, it's a rumor.. just not a rumor through 15 different people.. lol

we'll find out in a few weeks how legitimate all of this is.. as for me, if we take Newton, cool... if not, cool...

I don't really have an opinion on the matter.. us average Joe's aren't professional scouts..

Really this has been hashed over 1000000 of time. Dont you think if there where these potential torpedoing tapes they would have came out earlier and not right before the draft?

Its just what radio show host do best. Lie to cause drama to boost rating.

When I opened this thread I was expecting "Cam Newton just robbed a liquor store while driving over mentally challenged kids on his way to place a bet on racehorses".

I don't think we should take any of the available QB's at #1... so this doesn't really matter to me one way or the other. Obviously it goes to his character if he knew of the money thing and went along with it, but does this really affect his ability to be an NFL QB? I don't think so...

Could it affect teams opinions of him, possibly, but his interviews, workouts and game tape will have more effect IMO.

As far as his comments and arrogance, I think you need a certain amount of arrogance to be a good NFL QB, so that doesn't bother me either.

If he's a turd, he's a turd and I suspect the teams will figure that out in the interviews more than anywhere else...

    • Watching Williams last night, guy has an arm and nfl ability  i see no future with Young.  either a player has nfl ability or they dont  cant survive on 20 or less points a game
    • Fowler: Bucs 23, Panthers 16. Baker Mayfield only won a single game when he was an unimpressive Carolina starter, but somehow he’s 5-0 when playing AGAINST the Panthers. For the Panthers to pull off this upset, they’ll need to score at least in the mid-20s. With Tampa Bay relatively healthy following a mini-bye (and Mike Evans’ return is huge), it feels like this will be too tough a task. Kaye: Bucs 24, Panthers 20. The win-loss-win-loss streak comes to an end. It’s hard to trust the play-calling following the loss to the New Orleans Saints. The Panthers know what’s on the line, but they also knew last week, too. It’ll be close; I just have trouble trusting a positive outcome after a defeating one on the road. Zietlow: Panthers 38, Bucs 35. This prediction goes against conventional wisdom, but then again, conventional wisdom doesn’t seem to apply to these Panthers. This group, after all, has yet to lose back-to-back contests since Weeks 1 and 2. I think they win this one to make Week 18 interesting — and yes, that’s even with motivated Baker Mayfield and future Hall of Famer Mike Evans in good form. Why not?
    • Sam developed into a different player after he mostly sat for a year and learned a ton by being in that QB room under Shannahan in San Francisco.  Then he went to the Vikings who have a poo load of talent and another genius level offensive mind at HC in Kevin O Connel. I think they genuinely built up his confidence in a way he never did in New York or Charlotte.  He would not have been the same player if he stayed here IMO. Especially if he had been involved in that disaster season with Frank Reich in 2023, that might have cooked his confidence for good.  I guess you could argue we wouldn't have been that bad if we also kept cmc and dj i guess.
