Buffalo our best friend?

I absolutely give up...why would you trade WITH buffalo to get the guy that BUFFALO wants!!! All I'm saying is that it's becoming more apparent that cam will NOT fall past buffalo...so if someone wants him that is after buffalo they will HAVE to trade past buffalo to get him. That involves trading to the 1st or 2nd pick. Buffalo's interest in cam makes our pick more valuable.

The reason you would trade with Carolina for the guy Carolina wants is the same reason you would trade with Buffalo if either Newton or Gabbert were on the board and you wanted to move up for a cheaper price. You assume that we want to trade down and don't want Newton. I assume that for the right price we would be willing to trade down and pass on a quarterback but pick up multiple players in return.

Buffalo may feel the same way. They want Newton or Gabbert but if they get enough in return would be willing to trade down and forego a Qb since they have Fitzpatrick already and their GM has publically stated he won't go after a one year wonder. So why are we running a smokescreen and Buffalo is not? How do you know that they aren't doing the same thing we are doing which is lining up who they want if they draft at 3 but are willing to look at other possibilities if the price is right.

If you assume that Buffalo wants Newton or Gabbert maybe they are just running a better smoke screen than we are?? They actually have more reason to run one than we do.

It's funny that almost everyone to reply so far totally missed the point of the original post.

No I think we all get the point. I think we all also understand that you have no clue what the hell the FO is gonna do till draft day. We all understand the smokescreens and chess playing here.

Getting away from all the smokescreen theories I noticed yesterday that buffalo took cam out to dinner last night and there are several articles about how gailey loves athletic QBs with Cams skill set. So, this actually works out really well for us bc if anyone (Washington, Dallas, etc) want Cam bad enough they will have to trade up in front of buffalo to get him.

The fact that Buffalo seems to want him so bad may give us the ability to trade back. No smokescreen, just simply if one of those teams want him the precedent has been set that he wont fall past Buffalo. Which gives us ammo and makes that first and second pick more valuable.

Or we could just take him but that's a whole other story...

I get your point. Do not forget, however, that we could trade with Buffalo. Why? Buffalo may want to keep Washington or Dallas from trading with Denver. If we trade with Buffalo, however, it means Cam is gone. Do people trade with Denver for Gabbert? If not, we could still get a top QB and pick up a high second rounder. Or we could take Peterson or Quinn and a DT in the second. Lotta things could happen.

Easy...I don't think we are running a freaking smokescreen and I wish that term would be outlawed on this forum. We are simply scouting prospects right now and that's it. We may like someone right now but I think they are still collecting data on all the prospects. I mean JR hasn't even sat down with Newton yet...there is plenty of time before the draft and that's it.
