Would you be ok with a Trent Dilfer, if you got the defense that came with him?

Well in your world Matt Moore beats him out anyway, so it will be a contest between his end-zone INTs and our defense's greatness, huh? :)

Winning SHOULD be all that matters, not who's the QB.

In TRD's mind it's

Winning is all that matters, as long as it's not the guy who replaced my beloved Moore..

If we had kept teams to 10 points a game last year we would have been 8-5-3. Yeah I would pissed if we kept teams to 10 points and we still didn't win more than we lost or tied.

How about this one. We have our defense improve from last year to where they give up a TD less or 18 dollars and with our new revamped offense score 10 points more a game or 22 points a game. I think that would make us better than 8-8. And we would be a lot more fun to watch.

In order to win a Super Bowl with a QB like that the first thing you have to do is get to the playoffs.

Having Ryan, Freeman, and Brees in your conference all but guarantees we would never have that chance if we had a Dilfer like QB.

So no. The league has changed and more importantly, our conference has changed!!

Really? The Ravens averaged 20 points that year. Given a GREAT defense 20 points a game won't make the playoffs?

How is 8-5-3 not a winning record?

It is but lets be honest winning half your games because in the other half you had no chance to win because you scored 10 or less points is ridiculous. Are you telling me with that kind of defense you would be happy if we didn't make the playoffs or go deep in them.

I didn't say that I just asked how it wasn't a winning record which you said it wasn't.

I already stated I think our offense will be middle of the road next year at worst just by getting rid of Davidson and Clausen and if we go DT #1 and with Rivera I think our defense will be excellent.

A lot of things can happen but I'd take our chances with that scenario

The other 3 QBs in the AFC North during the 2000 season that Trent Dilfer had to contend with to make the playoffs:

Akili Smith

Tim Couch

Kordell Stewart

Now put those up against Matt Ryan, Drew Brees, and Josh Freeman

Yeah bad, bad comparison.

AFC North in 2000 may have had the worst stable of QBs in NFL history.
