I still want to trade out of the pick. There are going to be some clowns that are enamored with one of the two media darling QB's although neither one is worthy of the spot. We all know how some teams are (see Al Davis/Raiders). Let them reach for a QB in a down QB year talent wise.

we will not trade the pick, we will take a QB, and a Vet QB after the draft

1. Cam Newton, Special, Steps up in pocket, extends plays, showed accuracy on deep balls, character may clash with other cocky personalities on team IE: Shockey or Smith,

2. Ryan Mallet Strong Arm, Stiff neck, makes great throws, then follows them up with very bad decisions on the next play

3. Blaine Gabbert I mean his name is the equivalent to his production....

so.... with the cba in the condition it is, how long will we wait to sign our rookies? almost guarantees that no contract will be worked out before-hand yes?

We sign them when there's a CBA in place, either a new agreement or reverting back to the last CBA based on the outcome of the judicial ruling.

No sense in deciding any earlier than you have to... why not do as much preparation as possible?

From what I've read, that's the Marty Hurney thought process in a nutshell.

And not just when it comes to drafts, honestly. How many times have we watched free agent decisions go down to the wire?

    • Here in lies the rub that the supporting posters continue to ignore. He wasn’t a 2nd round pick in the 2025 class, especially with an ACL tear. It was a dumb pick for any GM who looks ahead to determine values. C and CB were much better values than an injured RB in 2024. If a RB isn’t even playing much in 2024, you have to compare him to 2025. We’re beating a dead horse but only because the defense of the pick is almost comical at this point. We’ve made a ton of poo picks and moves/non trades while Morgan was GM and the assistant GM. It happens, we don’t have to jump through hoops to act like we just had some really bad luck. The 2025 draft class is unknown so far but damn it felt way better afterwards for the first time in a long time. Embrace the potential and stop stamping guaranteed on the box of poo of the 2018-2024 drafts. We are were we aware because of them and 2025 has to hit so we can get past the 7 win max in 7 year hurdle.
    • Oh for those tired of the Mannings I have bad news, Peytons son Marshal already has college teams after him and he isn't even in HS until this fall...   I'd wager we have two Mannings in the NFL in 2030
