PFW Previews Panther Prospects

I can very well see Gabbert playing well. Maybe not Aaron Rodgers level but well. But all the clips and the 2 games I saw, he didn't look good. Especially with pressure. I don't think that's teachable tbh. It seems like some QB's handle pressure some don't. I also don't think Gabbert is extremely accurate in games. However he threw pretty well on the move. I don't think he gets a lot of credit for that. As far a limited on field ability in the passing game, not being able to make the big throws is as big a limitation as well. I don't think we should draft on how likely a player is to be hurt. I mean look at Carlson Palmer and Tom Brady's injuries. I think Cam is the better athlete and has the better arm. Going off stats he is probably more accurate in game situations. I think right now today, Cam is better than Gabbert. No one knows whats going to happen 5-7 down the road. Hell Cam might get hit by a bus the day after the draft. Same with Gabbert.

Yeah there is biased and there is a hatchet job.

will always test the rules. By all accounts he follows order and does what he is told. One TD in a game instead of a kneel down is hardly always

need to avoid trapping of fame. Why isn't that an issue with everyone else then. No one put it in anyone else's review but Newton

stained heisman trophy No evidence at all

littered recruiting path No evidence at all. What about Peterson???

can provide intial spark but will be quickly dissected by NFL defenses ? How will that be different from Gabbert? Does his say this??

overhyped? As you say overcriticized would apply.

tainting locker room? All reports is he is great in the locker room

foreclose on gm's future? Just as many people think he will be a homerun in a few years as a bust. I also suspect Richardson and Morrison will be heavy involved so I doubt this all hangs on Hurney

Fixed it for you.

I guess I can't figure out why if Narwocki did such in depth research on these guys how come he didn't unearth the underage drinking incident by Gabbert that took a Huddler all of a Google search to find?? Was he too busy looking for Cam's negatives??

Maybe it's viewed as one, isolated and insignificant incident?

No one has brought it up, not just Nawrocki. If anyone thought it was if any significance I would have been reveled before now.

Peterson's pay for play is alledged, Cam's is proven- oh that's right, ignorance is a defense because he didn't know.

Cam earned that criticism, all the way. Character is his biggest issue, get over it.

Newton's is alleged but there is nothing to link him to it.

Peterson's is alleged as well. No proof of either. You are innocent until proven guilty. Stop slandering without any basis.

Didn't Dareus miss some time because of dealing with an agent?? That was proven. To a larger extent than even Newton who was cleared (so far).

Or what about Bryant's $600,000 of jewelry to bought as an undergraduate as a loan from an agent. Wonder how PFW missed all that as well last year.

I don't see the Newton review as being unfair. I'm not saying I agree with it but I think it is a fair review and opinion. And as readers we can decide to take from it whatever we want.

I do however have a problem when you read the review of Fairly and then read the reviews of the remaining players. I wouldn't go as far as to say there is racsial elements to his reviews but biased agaisnt a school, I could see that.

Like I said, on it's own the Newton review isn't so bad in my opinion but there isn't a consistantcy in the other reviews of players that attend schools other than Aubrun.

Just my .02

Someone claimed Narwocki was and Alabama grad. I haven't been able to confirm that. Does Scot or anyone else know??

Know how I know you didn't read the profile? :D

Was involved in a fight outside a Columbia pizza parlor in February 2010 that left his brother, Tyler, with a broken nose, although no arrests were made.

The story from the TV station said the police believed the players may have been drinking but didn't actually test them. So as a matter of record, it's only listed as a fight.

Nawrocki played linebacker at Illinois.

I can tell you from reading his reviews of Alabama players (Dareus included) that the "school bias" thing has no legs.

    • After Bountygate and the information that came out on the Saints owners shielding pedophile priests in New Orleans it will forever be the Saints numero uno for me. FUG THE SAINTS! I hope this is just the beginning of a long term period of suffering for that shitty organization run by even shittier human beings. #2.Pats/Belicheat #3. Falcons (Mike Vick years then Matt Ryan/Julio running it up) Ryan pooping his pants and 28-3 def makes my bad days always better just thinking of those. #4 Pretty much any franchise fan base thats obnoxious Steelers, Eagles, Bills, Jets, Giants, Cowboys, etc.
    • Thank God DM used that #8 pick on a bona fide WR1 and not some bum pass rushing prospect like Stewart or someone else. I believe Tet is legit WR1 material and going forward will be our long term answer at that position since we desperately were in need of one once they traded away DJ Moore.  Tet could possibly end up even being better long term than someone who I respect a ton as a WR in Moore. Evans has been a pleasant surprise and great TE/FB depth piece going forward who could make the most of his opportunities.  Any good offense worth a damn in the NFL has 3 TEs that can do multiple things and being scared by Ian Thomas play for years should makes us all appreciate what Evans is quietly doing as a ROOKIE at one of the hardest positions to learn at the pro level.  Keep cooking DM. This season is not over obviously but seeing some growth out of young talent finally is a breathe of fresh fuggin air for once.
    • Saw this show up in my new feed. Nice to see a couple of our rookies making it into the top 5 so far, even if it is a pff measure... From https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-top-15-rookies-week-9-2025 ... 4. TE Mitchell Evans, Carolina Panthers (78.7) Evans struggled in the Panthers’ tight win over the Packers, finishing with a 41.8 PFF overall grade — third worst among tight ends this week. He was not targeted in the game and played only one snap in pass protection. He did log 15 run-blocking snaps, and although he earned a 68.9 PFF run-blocking grade in zone looks (seven snaps), his 39.0 mark in gap schemes (second worst for the week) dragged him down to a 46.6 PFF run-blocking grade overall — sixth worst for the week. Despite seeing zero targets over his past two games, Evans still leads the Carolina tight end group with a 74.3 PFF receiving grade. He has caught all nine of his targets for 90 yards, six first downs and two touchdowns. Evans also leads the Panthers’ tight end group in PFF run-blocking grade (72.2). He has recorded a 20.5% positive play rate across 175 snaps.  5. WR Tetairoa McMillan, Carolina Panthers (78.6) McMillan had a better day against the Packers, recording four catches for 46 yards. Most of that production came in the first quarter via two 16-yard catches — one of which he snatched from Carrington Valentine’s hands, who was in perfect position to break up the pass. McMillan accounted for three first downs on the day, although Green Bay was able to limit his impact after the catch, holding him to 0.8 yards after the catch per reception. McMillan now has 41 catches for 558 yards — a top-15 mark. He is also tied for second with 19 explosive gains of 15-plus yards. Three of McMillan’s catches against the Packers came between the numbers, bringing him to 22 for 318 yards and 19 first downs (tied for second most) this season. He owns a 26.1% threat rate and a 76.6 PFF receiving grade between the numbers. He also ranks in the top 10 in explosive gains (10) and yards after the catch per reception (5.5) within that area of the field.
