They aren't going to trade down but they will get back into the 2nd round somehow that is obvious since hurney has made a draft day trade every year he has been here. the panthers arent setting up this huge,free draft day party on a thursday of the draft to pick marcel or peterson or green or fairley or gabbert. regardless of whether you like the pick or not, CAM NEWTON is going # 1 overall

The draft is a big deal. People travel to NY to watch it for 2 days. If we trade, half of the people there will cheer wildly. Do not assume that everyone thinks as you do.

You're probably right about that, but they're not doing for Newton either. They're probably simply getting with the times and doing the same as just about every other NFL team that has been doing this same type of draft day party for years.

you are the one kidding yourself if you think ANYBODY, let me reiterate...ANYBODY is going to trade up in this draft to the # 1 spot. if anything, the panthers might trade to get back into the first and mortgage their picks like they did in 2008 when they got stewart and otah,but i dont think that will happen.i do think they will get back into the 2nd round though

Might be a good move on our part don't get me wrong, but if there was a huge build up with bands, beer, and excitement flowing through the air just to have Goodell to come to the microphone and say, "There has been a trade"

You will see maybe 25% who are the Haters clap and another 25% who are the Huggers upset bc we didn't go Cam Newton, and the other 50% will be sitting there wondering "how fugging long am I gonna have to sit here before they announce us selecting someone like Prince Amukamara?"

plus, you are probably not going to see alot of draft day trades for future picks if there isnt a new cba in place. just like peter king said,the teams that give away future picks to move up in this draft will do so at their own peril because nobody even knows if there is going to be a draft in 2012 or beyond
