The Most Dangerous Offense in the NFL

Chris played more than one year at FSU so try again.

You are right, he played three years at FSU and took them to the national championship all three years. He won the Heisman, the Davey O'Brien Award etc. But, remind me, what did he do in the NFL?

I'd be curious to see how former Heisman QB's AND Champion QB's have faired in the NFL. I don't want to do the research.

I don't know about that, but out of the top 6 QBs in the NFL, (Brees, Rivers, Brady, Rodgers, Rapelisburger, Manning) I can tell you how many they have, 0.

College success means poo when it comes to NFL.

Here's the bottom! Your favorite sports team is seriously considering taking Cam Newton with the #1 overall draft pick. Maybe, just maybe it's time to set all personal feelings for this guy aside and revisit what it is about this cat that's got the draft world buzzing, and maybe you'll walk away feeling a little better when his name is called as our #1 pick on 4/28/2011.

Maybe, there are several guys they could draft.

I'll support him and pray he's not the spoiled punk I think he is, but right not I think he'd be a mistake. If he proves me wrong I'll glady come back to eat my fair share of crow.

It's really not about eating crow! If a guy is getting as much attention from your favorite team as Cam is I would be interested in looking at every game, interview, and Highlight I can about this guy and form my own opinion. I just get the feeling that some people feel a certain way about Cam without looking into him for themselves. It work both ways though! I'm sure some huggers have never watched a single down.

I've formed my own opinion if that's what you're getting at.

Well you'd have to take a few guys off that list. Newton won't be contributing for a while and at least Smitty and Shockey will be too old by then if it takes 2+ years, which it might.

But I get it, another Cam fan who thinks Cam will come in here and light it up day one, immediately adding him as one of our greats on a list without him even playing a game lol.

Seriously people, what is all the hype?

Since when has he been "lighting up the draft world" anyways?

I haven't heard much about him good or bad.

It's the fans on this forum that have hyped him up so much.

Do you really want a Vince Young replica playing here??

    • And once again I showed you it’s been pretty even. We spent 2nd and 3rd rounders this past draft on edge rushers. No one’s going to sit here and do the math on a draft value chart etc. the only reason I even entertained this was because you said we’ve spent nothing on defense when that simply isn’t true. It also didn’t help we traded our ONLY WR worth a damn to trade up for Bryce soo… And this is kind of the issue with the anti Bryce crowd. This crowd tends to blame him for the trade up. I was team Stroud. Had the panthers not taken Young the only other QB they were going to take was Richardson. So your issue should be with Tepper, Morgan, Fitterer not Bryce.  Bryce is who he is and it was pretty obvious who he was during the draft process. Bryce is slowly developing into that guy most thought he’d be. Give him a WR like Jamo and this offense as a whole would improve greatly.  Anyone thinking he was the next Pat Mahomes or Josh Allen is clearly slow. Bryce was always going to need pieces around him much like EVERY other QB Burrow has Chase and Higgins and they’ve done nothing. After losing in AFC Championship in 2022, Burrow is 17-15. QB’s need a team around them It’s why a Jalen Hurts led Eagles team dismantled a Pat Mahomes led KC team in the SB Imo the QB’s doing the most with the least up until this year have been Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson  This year it’s Drake Maye and Josh Allen  Outside of the 3-5 elite type QB’s I’m not really sure what people expect here. Is Bryce ever going to be in that elite category? Nope. Should we punt on Bryce and keep swinging? I don’t think so. Should we keep swinging while hanging onto Bryce? Yeah but I don’t know what that looks like This team as a whole isn’t very good. Offense and defense and that’s the simple truth
    • I didn't move the goal posts. But anyone who follows football who wants to engage in a rational discussion can't argue that 10 7th round picks are equal to 10 1st rounders in value. The argument has always been we haven't spent as much on defense has we have on offense. Draft picks have value just like salary. We have not spent the same amount of draft pick salary cap on defense that we have on offense since drafting Bryce. It's not even close. Just the 2 1sts we used on Bryce, 2 overall 1sts have a value of 6000. That doesn’t even factor in DJ Moore or the 2 2nds. Bryce cost more than everything we've spent on defense in 6 damn years.
    • We need to hope this scenario plays our next week he fails with pressure…what that means with Evero, is beyond me
