Mel Kiper thinks we should Trade Down 4 Fairley?

Now through out this whole draft process. Mel Kiper has been the guy who always said that Carolina is a really, really bad team. They need to many pieces so they should trade back. Now this morning on ESPN he was talking about trade scenarios and he said we should trade back to seven or eight and take a guy like Nick Fairley. Now me been honest I like Fairley and i think he can be a good player. But Fairley scares the S----H----I----t out of me . Coming from jamarcus Russell high school, missing a team meeting at the Combine and just to many Character concerns RED flags of lately. I just cant see Carolina doing that. If we take a DT in the first round it better be Dareus.

If we trade down past pick 5, we had better come away with a boatload of picks.

1 through 5, we still end up with either Newton, Gabbert, PP, Dareus, or Green. Beyond that, it's anyone's guess.

It would be really disappointing if we traded down only to end up with Fairley.

Kiper = Assclown of the year EVERY year when it comes to the draft. My favorite draft time quote came many years ago and I was watching when it happened 'Who the hell is Mel Kiper' :D

Check this out, this ol' is dead on...

Frankly, I would rather trade down to the 12 to 15 range and take a chance on Mallet, or into the 20's and roll the dice on Ponder, than go down to 7 or 8.

When all is said and done, my preference is to stay at 1 and take the guy we feel best about. There are too many variables to trading down...you think a guy you want will be there, and he isn't, and then you end up taking someone that you haven't researched as thoroughly.
