I was also pretty much spoiled for this episode, but I don't think it diminished it at all.  I had heard the term 'red wedding', I knew in my gut that Robb was going to die after all that screen time they devoted to him and his wife talking about visiting her mother and knowing that Arya was on her way to being reunited with them.

Ned's death in season 1 flipped a switch in my brain on how I think about this story.  It was incredibly shocking.

This show has been simply amazing.  Nothing like it.  This season was losing my interest but I knew it was building up to something.  This isn't a story about redemption or revenge or love or hate or anything.  It just is.  I've learned to just let it flow because somewhere along the line it's going to pay off.

Oh, and there's no fuging doubt I'll have read all the books by the time next season airs.

the way jon did ygritte was a total dick move

I don't know how I feel about that.  Jon seems overly idealistic and naive but Ygritte seems equally so just on the other side of the spectrum, so it's hard for me to feel empathy for either one.  I'm guessing the books give a lot more insight.

also the only reason to watch this show or read the books:

Jaime Lannister

Jaime's arc has intrigued me more than any other.  He's gone from hated to loved in such an organic and natural way.  It's damn impressive.

You know grrm is a good writer when he can make people root for lannisters. What he's done with Jamie's character reminds me of snapes from Harry potter

This is just real life. The good guys die all the time. There is no happily ever after. That's why people love the books. It's gritty, there isn't any bullshit. People do what they do for power, money, love, sometimes regardless of the consequences. This poo is real and raw and fuging just pure awesome.

Just remember one rule about this story. There are no good guys and only 1 bad guy (The Others). The rest are all in the middle. Some seriously fuged up people and some people with good intentions. Once you get to grips with that you will enjoy this story much much more.

Get ready folks this story has just begun.

(Ps I recommend you people to read the books. To me it is much better to find the story out with the type of storytelling of GRRM)

I am told by the people that participated in it that it is awful. So I’m — like the fans, I’m looking forward to it with anticipation and a certain amount of dread. And also I’m living in terror of the reaction. When that book came out, I got some amazing letters from people telling how they threw the book into the fireplace and they would never read me again and they hated me. But then they went out the next week and bought another copy of the book, and they love me now. We may get some similar reactions. I don’t recommend anyone throw their television set into the fireplace. It could be very dangerous.
