I'm with Rodeo.  This season has finally teetered over the edge of sound streamlined decision making to making changes based on faulty audience perception by the producers and shock value.   There is still a lot of good but Dorne has been an unmitigated disaster.  It's a B-rated buddy cop flick meets Zena.

Here is my view on the whole thing, and yes it is utter book snobbery.

D&D, the show runners, are the dudes who made X-Men Origins: Wolverine. One of the worst movies of all time. The one with sword-hand Deadpool that they're now having to retcon out it was so fuging dreadful. They made that.

They have done a good job of adapting these books through the first seasons, but as they have less and less source material, they are forced to fill in their own ideas. And their own ideas are ideas of the calibre of X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

That's why as the show goes on, the reviews are worse and worse. Yes some of it is book snobbery, people not liking that it's different. But there's a legitimate case to be made that these are simply dreadful producers and dreadful ideas.

One of the worst movies of all time? In terms of x men movies made at that time it was the absolute best. You are going over board on this one.

Dorne just isn't getting air time which is why it seems rushed. The show is SO deep. Each episode needs to be two hours long, lol. Or at least an actual hour. Also, had they hired actual stunt women to play the Sand Snakes, I bet that scene would've been a lot better. Trying to "train" three actresses how to fight with weapons is bound to be a disaster. Heck even Selmy looked like ass when he fought and he's supposed to be the best fighter in Westeros.

I guess the reason I can watch this season and for the most part, enjoy it is that I only read the first book, and part of the second.

The Dornish scene was kind of dumb, and the rape was brutal, but expected. I was hoping Theon would stick a knife in Ramsey, but I didn't think it would happen.   I liked the rest of the episode though.

Btw, I think if if I were head of security for the Water gardens, I might start looking for new employment.  Letting two guys just waltz in dressed in bloody uniforms without so much as a challenge might not be good for one's resume, or life expectancy.

He was the best. In his old age he isn't going to be the best.

I'm not sure you're thinking of the right movie.

He was the best. In his old age he isn't going to be the best.

He was old but he was still the greatest living swordsman. And remember that the Sons of the Harpy were literally just Meereenese nobles. Just angry locals who put on masks. These were not expert fighters who kicked his ass (along with the entire squad of unsullied).

I actually liked last weeks episode it moved a lot of stories forward.

Really the only scene that I didn't like was the Sansa / Ramsey scene.   They had started to turn Sansa into a good character that was standing on her own and then they just threw it all away.  Should have made her the Dominatrix over Ramsey would have been a awesome twist.
