It's already been stated Richardson isn't getting involved in who we draft.

Some people reach for anything to help keep from looking foolish..

The experts don't think we should draft Newton? But how can that be if they aren't racist like all those Huddlers...Oh I thought of an idea!

I mean to be honest he's not really lying right or wrong is he not viewed that way by the media? hell he addressed it at his press conference.

Except there is nothing in that video that could even remotely imply that.

Only those who have convinced themselves that Newton is the next great sure thing are trying to grasp at straws when they see that people are not seeing it their way.

This is the most apathetic I've been about the draft in a long time because it just seems destined that we are in for a really long rebuilding process and neither of the QBs in this draft are going to be good for at least a few years. If we draft one of the QBs then at least I'll have something to be excited about for next year. If we draft a defender then that means we have another year to watch Matt Moore and Jimmy Clausen fight it out for who sucks the least...

Imo I think it's more of the fact that we have been conservative in the past and they think we will follow that same tread this year for example going defense...I see more people saying he'll bust than people saying he's a can't miss prospect. It's just two different mentality's you have those who are scared of being "set back" vs those who see the risk but feel due to his talent he's worth the risk. Which is why I see this draft as being huge to determine our front office staffs mentality as far as decision making goes compared to how we use to do things.

Taking a player like Newton I couldn't see in the Fox era I wouldn't even have my hopes up if he was still our coach. We will soon find out on the 28th if it was Jerry, Fox or Hurney who was more conservative though.

If anything It will show that we will sadly still be making conservative decisions though which put us in the position we are in now though so...

:icon_bs:

The only thing it will show is that the team thought they were not the best available player.

Or we may just be finding out they are not as high on newton as some of the people on this board. An all of the Cam talk was a ploy to try and trade the pick. Just saying...

At least he isn't saying that it is a national conspiracy to keep the Panthers from having a black quarterback :skep:

A lot of you guys complain about KT, but sit around trying to bait him after every response. Your the actual trolls.

I can imagine if we dont' draft Newton how many times the Panthers will have to answer the question of why they did not draft him..I doubt they would get asked the same question about any other player. The potential for this kid is just really hard to pass up.

If we do draft him, I'm confident that he will want to put in the time to be a great player..I'm hopeful that the new coaches we aquired are capable teachers and will have the ability to teach a raw player like him. I mean, isn't that what they were hired for..to teach our young team?

    • Personally I think he's a nightmare to cover I think linebackers generally aren't fast enough to keep up with him in coverage and cornerbacks don't have the strength to tackle him one-on-one in physically bring them down which would normally lead to a broken tackle or a nasty stiff arm or just bully ball play sure you could find a receiver with comparable speed like Cooper but he's faster than Cooper sure you can find a wide receiver that is the same size but he's probably More powerful than them and a better blocker.  The size speed athleticism package that he is in is completely unique it's easier to say I'd rather have just a big blocker because we've never seen this type of profile before I'm a risk taker I think you would be God blessed if this was there at 19 I think if you can get a guy that's a tight end who immediately becomes the fastest guy on your offense and at the same time that third wide receiver that can stretch and burn defenses over the top that's the perfect what the Panthers need type weapon.
    • I think you're under selling Sadiq. They are two different players in terms of how they win. Loveland is 2 inches taller maybe 5-6 pounds heavier. Comparing his speed to sadiq.. well your comparing a 4.7 guy to a 4.3 guy I'm seeing a guy that can take a bubble screen from the tight end position and turn it into a house call. I'm not saying the guy is a certified home run pick but I don't think there's really a president's for a comparison for this kind of athlete. It's easy to say this doesn't look like Warren or Loveland because we haven't seen guys that fit this profile The closest you might be able to get is Vernon Davis.  He's not as sure far as those guys were but at 19 I think almost everybody is going to have some warts and he's a lottery ticket of could be top 10 in the draft player or could fail I am more of a risk taker I think he fits the athletic profile that could be a homerun, like I said he's almost 40 lb bigger than Cooper and like 4-5 in taller than Cooper so and he's faster. So whatever you think Cooper gives you I think he does that and more. If you want to go with one of the office alignment I can understand that as well but for value as a receiving threat I don't think there's a bigger value at number 19.
    • I’ve haven’t seen anything that says we have interest in Njoku?
