Memories you'll never forget

Being with my grandma after she had her stroke, until she died.

Putting my first cat down.

9/11 (obviously). Walked into the coaches' room before gym class and they had it on the TV. I asked what happened and Mr. Gallagher just said "The sunzabitches bombed us." Tower 2 had already collapsed, and they went back to live footage and Tower 1 collapsed live. I'll always remember watching that big antenna vanish into a cloud of smoke.

Walking in a zig zag pattern in parking lots when the D.C. sniper thing was going on. And how funny it was that after a while you just did it unconsciously. And I remember being scared walking home from school.

The camping and fishing trip I took with my dad when I was 5. I think that was the last time I saw him in person.

Super Bowl 38.

Panthers/Rams Double OT game.

Being on the field during Terrapins games.

Catching a guy when I worked for America's Most Wanted

Every one of my children's birth. Scary and joyful at the same time, I never had a very healthy fear factor so that was a weird emotion for me. I always wept like a little girl the first time I held them.

A bunch of other "first time" memories but I don't want to bore you...

Birth of my daughter and son. Cried like a baby.

Buying my wife's enagagement ring. Scared shitless riding public transpo with my life's savings in my pocket.

Graduating residency. Finally frickin' done.

Death of my father. A month before my graduation.

Seeing my daughter dance ballet last year, year 2 recital coming up in a couple weeks.

I cried like a baby.

I thought it was Abdihakim Isse. But I just checked the Web site and it says he is still at large, so I must have the name mixed up. I'll try to remember the name of the guy I actually caught.

Although I'm almost certain it was him. Maybe they just didn't update the site.
