Who's still going to be ok if we don't draft the guy you want?

Well i didn't mean that far of a reach...i think if it isn't a HUGE reach then we should be content with it.

Any prospect considered to be a top 8-10 guy I would be o.k. with because obviously different staffs grade players differently and different players project better in different systems. But at some point it becomes to extreme of a reach and you just either have to trade down and get that guy or move back up after taking one of the elite guys at the top....

See above post.....no way you should draft a guy like Ponder number one overall when his stock is anywhere from 15-40. If you want that guy fine' date=' trade down and pick up extra picks and get him or trade back up and get him if your scouting department has him as a franchise guy.....[/quote']

Well if you are referring to that Auburn QB guy, if we traded down to pick him up we would have to trade all the way down to #2.

What about a guy like Newton who is the consensus #1 pick right now? ;)

I don't want Cam Newton so that's not who I'm referring to. I have no problem with the F.O. selecting him at number one because that's where his stock puts him. It's not my ideal draft pick but if they do their hw and think he's a franchise QB I'll support the pick 100%....

Newton isn't the consensus #1 player though.....BIG difference....

Earlier the haters said they wanted a guy that was the consensus #1 pick. Now it is consensus #1 player? You guys change like the wind.

Note: I know exactly what you mean and I am just fugging with you :)

While I would be elated for the team to draft Green, Dareus, Peterson, or Miller

and I would be ok if we traded down

and I would go postal if they draft gabbert or cameron

I would still support the team and hope this lockout ends quickly

    • Number 9  Carolina Panthers  Bryce Young, the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, produced career highs in completion percentage (63.6%), passing yards per game (188.2) and passing touchdowns (23) in 2025. However, those numbers aren't exactly stellar by NFL quarterbacking standards. Even though the Panthers backdoored their way into the postseason in 2025 as NFC South champions with an 8-9 record, Young's performance was up-and-down. He threw for the third-fewest passing yards by a quarterback to make the playoffs in the last 20 seasons, per CBS Sports Research.  FEWEST PASSING YARDS BY QB TO REACH PLAYOFFS, LAST 20 SEASONS (MIN. 16 STARTS) PASSING YARDS PLAYOFF WINS 2012 Christian Ponder (MIN) 2,935 0 2008 Joe Flacco (BAL) 2,971 2 2025 Bryce Young (CAR) 3,011 0 2006 Steve McNair (BAL) 3,050 0 2019 Josh Allen (BUF) 3,089 0 Young did deliver some high highs, like when he threw for a franchise-record 448 yards passing in a Week 11 overtime win at the Atlanta Falcons and when he went toe-to-toe with Stafford in the playoffs in a 34-31 defeat.  Kenny Pickett couldn't win the Cleveland Browns' quarterback competition a year ago, and Will Grier is a career backup.
