Lunch Hour Pregunta

If I eat lunch at my desk does that count for me taking a lunch? If I come in at 8...eat my sammich...do I count it as a working lunch? I can't work more than 40 hours a week per my contract. I also don't want to work more and not be compensated for it.

I sit at my desk and I also answer the phones during lunch.

Pretty much our whole office sits in the conference room and eats together everyday around 1130. I don't eat until about sometime between 1 and 230, so I always sit at my desk unless I'm going out somewhere.

Just getting ready to eat my sarad right now and read this MMQB article.

If I eat lunch at my desk then I usually just count the time that I spent eating (and simultaneously browsing the huddle) as non-work time. But when I at at my desk I'll usually only take 15 minutes or so. So instead of 9:00-6:00 with a one hour lunch break I'll work 9:00-5:30 or something. If you work straight through while you're eating lunch then yeah you're still working. I never get a week that's just 40 hours though, so it really doesn't matter for me.

I too tried to eat lunch at work but it gives a good break up to the day when you get to leave and eat. I eat with the same 2-3 coworkers everyday and we usually go out to eat, costing between 8-10 dollars a day.

I was thinking about buying a mini fridge for my office thus making eating at work and brining my lunch easier because it opens up options for me but I haven't made that move just yet.

I love fast food but I don't get to eat it year round so when I do I usually go all out.

When I started at this company I was a temp and was strictly 40 hours.

Now I'm a normal, salaried employee and haven't seen a 40 hour work week in a long time.

if eating a sammich is considered work, then your sammich is too big...

but yeah, I would count it as being on duty if you're at your desk/answering phones/posting on the huddle...

Id rather be on the Huddle talking to you guys than forcing awkward conversation with the miserable people I work with.

Well, there is one guy I talk to a lot, but I waste work-time for that :)

Plus, there isn't really anywhere I could go...I mean I guess I could eat on the patio by myself but meh. I drove to get my food today (I usually bring my runch since Ive been trying to eat healthier) so just getting out for 15 mins or so does it for me.

I don't mind eating and answering phones/huddling though. Pays off on those days when I leave and go out to eat for like 2 hours. We do timecards but Im paid the same amount anyways...pretty much pointless to do them, but it always says 30 mins for lunch regardless of how long I take

    • Would be happy with Lomu or Iheanachor at 19. Fano is intriguing but I don't think he makes it.
    • II see it this way: We have to look at long-term needs and current depth.  We have filled some key spots with players on one-year contracts.  I firmly believe that they intend to pay Bryce some big bucks next year.  That means you cannot hope that your rookies in 2027 can fill the spots vacated by the veterans you could not afford to re-sign.   We need to consider the cap and the fact that the need to start a rookie is not viewed as a positive by coaches and general managers, but they value first contracts--so it is a delicate balance. I think they have to look at the cap by position--"Can we afford a $50m QB and a $100m OL?  That is half the cap, before you pay your WRs and RBs and TEs.  They need to start getting younger on the OL as well.   I am not suggesting that we draft OT in round 1, but we could and I would get it.  RT on a 1-year deal, they may have intel about Ickey (who was not the best LT, to be honest) and 32-year old Moton is on a bad wheel.   Now if you go by Morgan's history, you can almost tell what position we are going to address with the first pick by noting the positions he has not focused on in free agency.  DT, considering the lack of performance by those not named Derrick Brown and the loss of Robinson, is screaming to be addressed with a top player.  Wharton is not an early down DT (DE if you want to get technical) and our LBs need to be clean--they were not in 2025.  Look for a DT early. I also think we will address ILB (pass covering Will) on day 2.  The other day 2 pick will be an OT, in my view. Do not rule out CB.  We are thin there too, and Jackson is in his final year.  I am not sure that we love Smith-Wade.  Some crackhead on here talked about moving him to S----stay tuned.   Hopefully, a team wanting Ty Simpson will move up and offer us a pick or two to move back. DT WILB OT OC QB  (you heard it here 337th--but this pick could come sooner than you think.
    • Bryce had some bad games, but he had some good ones as well (and this is coming from a Bryce skeptic). I think it's a little simplistic to put all the offensive woes on Bryce, you also should be looking at O-line play, receiver play, RB and TE play, and also coaching. There's no way when I look at the offense in it's totality am I ready to say that a so-so to bad offense was all on Bryce, and, I also can't say that we don't need to upgrade any position on offense, save Tetairoa McMillan (who also wasn't perfect) and maybe the starting guards and T-mo.
