Flying Air China

If you ever get the chance to, don't.

Just flew from New York to Manila with a stopover in Beijing and back. What a miserable experience. Just a simple transfer in Beijing requires a Visa, and going through three different security checks. One when you get off the plane (guess they don't want you stealing the little pillows, one after you go through immigration/customs (even for a transfer, you need a visa) and one before you board the next plane. And they had one guy doing the Visa's for about 40 people, and he moved like Tim Conway from the old Carol Burnett show. For you younger folks, that means he moved very very slow. I am all for security, because I don't like the thought of being blown up. But that was ridiculous.

No individual air vents on the planes, and they took out the armrest between the seats. Fortunately my wife was with me and didn't mind to much if I took up to much room. :)

On the brightside, the stewardesses were really hot. And the food was tolerable.

Went to visit my wife's family. And it was the first visit for me. Mostly just visited with family, although we did take a tour of Corregidor, where US and Filipino troops held out for several months against Japanese troops in 1941/42.

Thailand is the hooker capitol. Manila is the internet bride capital. Not that I met mine that way. My wife was working as a tutor for some rich Arab's kid when I was stationed in Bahrain.

    • I never needed stats to tell me how a player is doing. I watch every snap and if they have more bad plays than good plays that is all I need to see. Young has more bad than he has good, by a wide margin.  He was going to need to overcome an overwhelming size disadvantage coming into the league. He had to lead a dysfunctional, talentless team and turn it around. He had no chance and somehow the FO overlooked all of that. The fact that the odds of it being remotely successful were 1000:1 is all the reason you need. Tepper made his fortune taking gambles like this but that is in finance, you don't do that in football.
    • Ty for posting this. People who have been paying attention can see Canales' fingerprints all over Bryce this season. Last season Bryce would be 15 yards deep at the top of his drop. This game he was a consistent 7-10 yards. The big takeaway for me is that DC seems to have simplified the game for Bryce. I noticed that BY9 only operated one half of the field. When the ball is on the outside hash (short side), his game is geared more to the boundary. Multiple patterns and deep outside shots. When the ball is placed on the inside hash (wide side), it's virtually all in-breaking or smoke routes and\or deep shots. Most of his over the middle passes are executed from a deep drop. I really do not think he can see the field. I think DC has tried to mitigate it as best he can, but there simply are physical limitations that cannot be ignored in this league. I do not think he can execute fully, DC's offense. I think DC is frustrated and damn near over the BY9 era.
    • If the other guy didn't try to have someone murdered, Xavier Legette would easily be the worst draft pick this franchise has ever spent on a WR.
