Someone in the chat stated Rivera was talking like Cam could start so...who knows.

Really? Because he and Hurney has stated several times that starting a rookie QB too early hurts them and used Clausen as a prime example. We are not the Steelers or Baltimore with defenses that can keep our team in games while the rookies learn on the fly.

Horrible pick. Cam Newton is going to be an absolute bust. Sure he's pretty accurate for a power passer but this guy cannot read NFL defenses. He couldn't even read the Clemson defense and almost cost them that game!

If I was picking for this organization, I would have drafted Scott Tolzien #1 overall because I honestly believe that he will eventually be the best QB to come out of this draft. You can't teach accuracy and QB intelligence.

Not trolling at all. Cam Newton is terrible and he got bailed out because he could run against the smaller defenses when he couldn't read it properly. In the NFL if he screws up at reading the defense and tries to do that, he'll get the hit stick put on him by Ray Lewis or Patrick Willis.

Like I said.... Would have gone with either Tolzien or Dalton. These are high IQ guys who will be masters at reading NFL defenses.

Thats what I'm screamin bro. and i was wondering... ya know how madden snatched up the NFL license where they can be the only game to use NFL teams? with the lockout and all and a new deal eventually coming up, will the evil franchise of madden who has no competition be challenged by NFL 2k?? i hope.. the best football games were when these two franchised competed... can anyone tell me whats up??

Lets pick the harvard Qb if we want a high IQ. I want someone who can win and is athletic. Lets be serious few Qbs in the NFL have that high of an IQ.

Newton played in the SEC. The defenses weren't small. Sure he has an adjustment to make but so do any quarterbacks that are taken in the draft.

      Yea, its a awful year for COY there's like 5 coaches Id as a  non-panther fan say are more worthy than Dave. Ben Johnson is doing similar to Dave by taking a yearly loser into a winner, but da bears are what 9-10 wins right now. Liam Coen has the fuging jags at 9-4 with similar talent as Panthers, I mean they drafted before them this pass year and had nearly zero from a guy they traded up for @#2 hunter.  ugh....Sean Payton&vance has the broncos as the current #1 seed in the AFC..... you know the broncos before the year starts you have the chiefs with mahomes&reid and chargers with herbo&harbs. No one had broncos winning there nor as a the #1 overall seed.  Mike Macdonald has the Seahawks at 10-3 compare that to Panthers 7-6, they are in a blood bath against Rams and 49ers.....shanny has half the team on IR with a 9-4 record.  Chargers are 9-4 with no OL or RB and not much on D.  I have even put colts above Dave and the Panthers, if not for Danny injury...they were on the way and playing great. Just soooooooooooo many HC deserving this year and still more games, but Dave has over played this year for sure. I had them at a firm 2 win team, with 4 being the maybe and 7?!?!?!? being the everything goes right. 7 wins is possible given the shitty NFC south.

      He did everything right but catch the ball. Kept his hands out in front, palms away from his body, watched it in, and then dropped the dam ball! Text book up until he dropped it.

      Just try to enjoy it for what it is. I don't need to convince myself that Young is good. He isn't. If this team makes the playoffs with the cinder block of Young dragging them down all season, even better.  But, some crucial things still need to happen, and being close, and moral victories, and at-least-they-tried isn't good enough.
