NFL Network just did a segment asking whether Cam Newton is ready. But they went on to say how he wont get any help from coaches etc because hes locked out. Is he locked out? I mean technically, hes not earning a pay check, not signed, hes still basically a prospect, the same as he was before being drafted and was allowed to talk to coaches and JR. Until he is actually signed, hes not really a player, right? So he can interact with coaches etc.

players are not allowed to "officially" interact with coaches at all until the lockout is over. all players are locked out.... whether they have a team or not.

when he went in on friday he was able to meet with some coaches and the first theing they did was put the playbook in his hands because they had an idea something was going to happen.
