Panthers 2011 - What Will You Be Satisfied With?

Recommended Posts

Satisfied with?! A fuging SuperBowl win. Why would any fan be satisfied with less? If your playing for second you already lost.

LOL, yeah... a rookie coach, with a rookie QB needs to WIN IT ALL BABY!!! NOTHING LESS!!!! FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION!!!!!!11111!11!one

Realistic expectations are a hallmark of a sound mind. Honestly, given our division, given our schedule, given our our coaching changes and given the current legal woes and issues surrounding the CBA, as long as we don't end up dead last again, we've made realisitic progress. I wouldn't be satisfied with #31, but it is in the realm of possibility.

I expect that our team's worst unit by far in 2010, the offensive line, will play like their jobs are on the line......because they are.

I expect to see more receiving yards from LaFell and Gettis.

I expect Clausen to demonstrate a higher completion percentage, regardless of either of the two above.

I expect Mike Shula to hit the ground running like his ass is on fire, because no coach has a bigger task ahead of him than this guy.

I expect the front office to be patient enough not to replace Clausen before the BYE, unless it is due to injury.

I expect our linebackers to come back with a vengeance, and I had better see more blitzes from this defense than what we saw last year.

I expect Armanti Edwards and Everette Brown to stop making Marty Hurney look bad.

Hopefully Corvey Irvin and Duke Robinson will either show up in a big way or get the hell out of Charlotte.

True. I still don't see why Panthers fans should be satisfied with our current reality? Just because we know we're not going to win doesn't mean we should be ok with it.

Not being satisfied with reality, when you have absolutely no way to change it, is kinda sorta... futile, donchathink?

By the way... your sig would be awesome if that girl wasn't a zit-scared butterface. :p

I would just like to see some emotion from our coaching staff. Watching us get our teeth kicked in week after week last year and old Foxy just sat there expressionless. I hope Riveria throws coolers!

With Clausen 10-6 20TD 5INT make wildcard and shows everyone we didnt need Cam EX dree Brees SD

With Cam Newton 10-6 throws 15Td and 10 INT over 60% comp. in 12 starts 5 Run TD and shows everyone why he was #1 pick/ sacked only 15 times

David Gettis- get a #3rd pick for SS and as 1WR goes 80-1400 12TD

Lafell 50 -800 5 TD

I will be satisfied if Rivera fields a team that competes in each game. I would like to see a record above 6-10, but as long as the team appears to be developing in the right direction I will be satisfied.

Too much young talent to expect great things from a team with a new coach.

    • Yeah I find myself flipping between the worst case scenario of Bryce either playing just mediocre enough for our decision makers to justify giving him a contract extension in their eyes because they want to justify drafting him. Or Bryce going back to playing poorly and us having no one else to fall back on because Pickett might be decent for one or two games but there's no one else and our locker room starts to get ugly because we went all in with our salary cap and guys careers are on the line. This scenario which IMO is the higher probability given our schedule and the amount of tape out there on Bryce is why I say if we can trade down and acquire a few more mid or late round picks we should draft a developmental QB. Not looking for a guy to be the savior but someone with the necessary physical tools and who could actually run a QB sneak. But we'll just have to see how it shakes out. I just want a competitive team but the last thing I want is the season to fall apart because we once again threw our arms up in regards to the QB room.
    • ^This. Rico was dynamite when we needed it last season, but not enough to keep but it massively upped his earning potential. It was a win-win for both sides. And he was there to cover the hole left by the injury to another RB, and hopefully his release to free agency means there's good news for us on the way. These new ones give us the opportunity to do that again, on the offensive line and elsewhere. We've got some long term question marks here and there due to injuries and age, and these players have a chance to up their value on the open market or settle down with us if the opportunity arises. And none of it ties us down with dead money down the road if it doesn't work out. And we've been in dead money hell for a decade now. Lease the ones you like, buy if you fall in love.
