Smith supposedly wants out...

I try not to get too wrapped up in the rumor mil surrounding Steve Smith. The bottom line is that we're a Better team with him than we are without him. I'm just being real here, some people like it and some dont. Realisitically, if we can't get a second rounder for him this offseason, then we keep him. He will undoubtedly have a better year next year which will increase his trade value.

Honestly, I'm a lil disappointed at the fan base here a lil bit so quick to diss Steve, or to say he's lost a step... Why because it's one year later? He did have a ROOKIE QB trying to get the ball to him while being triple covered! The addition of Shockey alone will help him be more open. I think the man has earned a lil more respect than some are giving! BTW, please don't hit me up about his character concerns like I don't already know all about him... Show some class to a guy who has been the BEST player for us in Panthers history... Because right now, none of this stuff I'm reading is very swag-worthy at all!

2008 1421 yards 78 catches

2009 982 yards 65 catches

2010 554 yards 46 catches

He has started declining. You can blame QB play, but until Smith shows he still has it stats suggest he has lost a step

Please not the FN Pats, just saw an article on espn.com about the Jets looking at Smitty. Who ever he ends up playing for, they will be happy. But if Smitty is going to start over anyway, why not with Cam? Shockey in the mix, gettis and Lafell are going to improve. Add Dwill and Jstew...wtf? Some Jets fans were bashing Smitty, saying he's done. LOL yeah right, I hope we get a chance to find out.

trade him to indy or NE, they cant wait to rob us again anyways

Yeah, if by some galactic flip we deal the Pats Smitty here's how it went/goes:

We give them the 33rd pick overall for Armanti Edwards.

They give us the 128th pick for Smitty.

Yeah us.

The first rule of dealing with the Pats. DONT

this

I don't think I've ever seen a trade involving the Pats that didn't involve the other team getting humiliated

with that said.. is Smitty from Oakland or something? Oakland's QB situation isn't as unknown as ours, but it's certainly not a good situation to go into as a receiving chasing a ring.

    • Great season regardless of what happens. From starting out 4-14 to ending 44-38 is incredible progress and future is bright from here. I do think we can beat the Heat and then win on the road against either Orlando or Philly assuming Embiid doesn’t miraculously return sooner. But if not, a higher draft pick is nice too
    • I know a DT that's asking for a trade: 🤔 maybe a home discount can be worked out. Dan Morgan could create up to $80 million in space through restructures of stars like Derrick Brown, Jaycee Horn, or Taylor Moton. They could also include players like Tershawn Wharton ($18.6M cap hit) in the trade to balance the salaries. Carolina Receives: DT  Dexter Lawrence II New York Receives: 2026 2nd Round Pick (No. 51 Overall): A premium Day 2 selection that fits the for  Lawrence  after his 0.5-sack season in 2025. WR  Xavier Legette : A young, high-upside receiver who provides the playmaking depth HC John Harbaugh needs for his offense. 2026 4th Round Pick: Immediate mid-round value. 2027 4th Round Pick (via MIN): Future capital acquired in the  Adam Thielen  trade.  ----- Stone Forsythe* (another young player as a potential trade option)provides immediate offensive line retooling for HC John Harbaugh.    John Harbaugh's history in Baltimore proves he values draft volume over individual superstars.    Just my 2cents
    • Moved to Tuesday, not Wednes because of scheduling with Flyers game or something in Philly. But I don't feel good about the Heat.  It has been a great season regardless.  Team just been playing so hard to move up since a bad start and just picked a bad time to get gassed.  It's like almost everyone is shooting cold at the same time even wide open shots.   Maybe atmosphere and playoffs kick off a spark.  I'd rather be in a series than a one and done though. The team has a good foundation to build on regardless of what happens.
