Can someone shed some light on this idea that Newton is dumb?

Mr scot gets defensive because he buys into the racial bias and cares more about ignorant people being called racist than actual racism. He shortchanges black qbs as less intelligent than whites no matter how good they are. By his own admission he grew up in a household where racism was prevelant. Scot put everything into "scaring" us from believing in Cam as our draft pick. I remember him saying early in this process anybody who thinks Cam was in consideration here was "stupid". Scot needs to expand his worldview to become a better person and fan

Naw it dont.But it could also mean he panic because he bought a stolen laptop.Instead of talking with the campus police about it, he threw it out the dorm window. To me it sounds like an immaturity issue.

After they already have the serial number, throwing it out the window to me is stupid. We can just disagree. I'm not saying Cam is stupid. But to many people that is a stupid decision. When people make stupid decisions you have reason to question their intelligence.

Again like many of these QBs we are talking about I am just not sure you have the ability to comprehend what I was illustrating. Since there are crazy fans everywhere please direct me to the article (even if it is on bleacher report) that has questioned Quinn's intelligence,or Leinart's, or Alex Smith's. If these are just dumb fans find me some that say these things about the white QBs. Should be pretty easy I suppose.

And know how I know you have no idea what playing the race card means?? I haven't played the race card once. All I have said is that questioning racial bias in criticisms of a black QB is fair and shouldn't be dismissed as playing the race card. I haven't accused anyone of being racist.

Why did people question Jason Campbell's ability to call his own plays?? Why was Josh Freeman's ability to read an NFL defense a big question mark?? Every discernible evidence on those two guys suggest they are very, very intelligent.

Why has a SEC Academic Honor roll student get his intelligence questioned to the point that a "stupid" fan wrote about it on bleacher report??

Here is where you are losing. I don't know the answer to these questions and unlike some people on here like yourself I wouldn't pretend to know, that is why the question is raised and IMO valid.

I just find it odd that 10 of the past 11 black QBs taken in the first round has had their intelligence questioned in some manner. Even ones with high GPA, high wonderlic scores, and came from pro offenses. Meanwhile a white QB with worse academic credentials and football experience get praised for having a "high football IQ." Do you not find that odd??

These are the questions no one has sufficiently answered. Seems like you are too caught up in what website an article was on so you can ignore the larger question; why was the article even written?

But I think the bigger questions have become, why are you so defensive about the possibility of racial bias in scouting of black QBs?? And how do you know that racial bias isn't a factor in some of these scouting reports??

I'll summarize in one question; since you have no idea what anyone else's biases are or how their brain works, do you even care if you are wrong Scot??

Teeray none of us know why those articles were written. They very well could be due to racial reasons. But unless you can provide evidence that supports that claim, bringing it up doesn't lead to anything positive. That is Scot's point.

Of course not. I'm sure there are many people who don't like Cam because he is black. I also think there are people who have questions about Cam that don't have to do with his race. But I don't have proof to show that anyone who has questioned Cam has done it for racial reasons so I don't see the point in arguing about it.

I think majority of questions on this forum are not based on race.

so when EVERY criticism appears to be presented as racism by the few of you, are you saying it's okay to attack 100% of criticisms based on assumption?

because I see every now and then the thug term brought up and every person who does is obviously ignorant (whether deeply bigoted or just naive to the terms they use)... and those people more often than not get bashed.

so considering that, I'm not sure why everyone else gets attacked just for having a criticism when clearly race isn't on everyone's mind.

is that an issue for some? sure, are we assuming "some" means "everyone", because we have very different definitions..

stating "the other side" says 0% has to do with race is far from what people believe.. and is simply an exaggeration.
