Last night I went to cook dinner, I was gonna make homemade pizza so I put my brick in the oven and turned it on. I came back about 30 minutes later to get started and guess what? The oven was still cold! WTF! So I started looking at it and noticed the heating element was in about 5 pieces. How does something like that happen?

I ended up cooking the pizza in the toaster oven. :( It pretty much sucked, the brick at a high temp makes a huge difference.

A brick?

I have much to learn.

Yah, you know one of those pizza stones you can put in your oven, I call it a brick. If you don't have one and you make homemade pizza you should get one.

I just leave mine in the oven on 550 degrees for about 30-45 minutes so it gets nice and hot. Make the pizza and throw it on the stone and about 8 minutes later the pizza is done with a crisp crust and melty goodness.

Pampered Chef has fantastic stones.

They do. I;ve had two of them and fuged them both up. I think i got some 409 cleaner on my latest one. Made some chocolate chip cookies and they tasted like chemical. Ugh

I didn't know the trick about heating it up really hot and then cooking on it, might try that again when I get a new one.
