Because the players don't and never did have ANY intention of negotiating a new deal.

There have been two offers made by the owners. Even if the offers were no where near acceptable, a group wishing to negotiate a deal would make a counter proposal.

They wanted this in court all along.

I just hope that the 8th Circuit court shoves this so far up the players ass that they feel like they are being boned by an elephant.

I have always kinda been on the players side since the owners backed out of the deal, but that has changed recently. The owners have proposed two deals, which is one more than necessary with no counter-proposal, and the players still haven't countered. The 8th circuit pretty much said in their opinion on the stay that the players were gonna loose the appeal and they still won't deal. I don't know how they think this is gonna turn out, but they could hire some much less expensive lawyers that could tell them they should try and make a deal before the owners get all the leverage. At least the owners are throwing out a number.

Agreed and D.Smith is not going to concede till he is fired. This is his Alamo and he is going down in a blaze. Besides mediation is pointless till there is another Union. The owners have the upper hand and want a CBA, something a trade organization cant give them.

So until D.Smith is fired I doubt we will see any movement from either side.
