I liked the first one. Not the next 2. They are too long and feel boring to me, every time. I think they are really over-rated. Depp really annoys me too in these movies, I like his other stuff, but I hate him in the Pirates movies. I'll probably see later on though but wouldn't go to the movies.

I've never understood why these movies are so popular. I rented them all on netflix and it wasn't that I hated them, I just thought they were mildly amusing at best.

i think the main reason i chose this movie this weekend is because it was the best looking of what was playing, and the wife and i don't get to go often. we had the grandparents babysitting saturday is the only reason we got to go to the movie.

i saw it, and enjoyed it. the after credit scene isn't worth staying for really. credits are around 8 minutes. i found the vid on youtube instead of hanging around for it.

Went to see it last night, and my BIL said there wasn't an extra scene, so we didn't stay. Glad you say it wasn't worth it anyway.

Sparrow's character got old after the first one, and was absolutely grating in the second. Haven't put myself through it since then.

I actually like the second Pirates. The special effects are simply astounding. What they did with Bill Nighy's face, and the scenes with the Kraken. Fantastic.

I pretend the third one didn't happen. I just can't make it all the way through it. The surreal underworld scenes with multiplicity Sparrows and rock crabs just totally threw me off. I actually don't know (or blocked out) how it ends. And unless the fourth was the best movie since Citizen Cane, I was going to skip it. Well from the looks of it, I can save my $12.

I really liked the first one, its worth watching a few more times, iMO. The next 2 are like 1 big movie cut into 2, ala Kill Bill, but its a long boring movie. I think I will be waiting for the DVD, like 98% of the movies that are released nowadays...

Worst of the 4. I felt like Depp was just going through the motions. Jack Sparrow in POTC1 was a lively performance, and this Sparrow is animatronic by comparison. More of the same stuff and, like the last 2 films which were mediocre, it meanders around far too much. Worth seeing if you liked the Pirates movies, but it's nothing special.
