Favre Is Throwing Again...

Favre does not show up for training camp, so his influence on Cam is very limited. Besides, I do not want Cam learning some of Favre's habits, almost like I do not want Jake Delhomme here teaching Cam how to throw off the back foot into a crowd (I loved Jake, but the mechanics were terrible). We need a mechanically sound veteran if anyone--a pocket passer and not a scrambler. Cam needs experience sitting in a pocket after a five-step drop, reading the progressions. etc.

Simplified: No gunslingers for Cam

Two reasons to forget about Farvea. 1) He has never been the mentoring type. He has said many times "Why should I help somebody take my place." As a life long Lions fan I have never seen or heard him do anything to help a fellow QB. 2) If we are going to bring in a Vet QB, shouldn't it be a QB with at least some experience with Chud and his system? That list includes Volek, Anderson, Quinn, and Gradkowski. Heck, Dorsey has more pass attempts than Quinn, Volek, and Gradkowski. So in one since Cameron has already been mentored by someone with experience with Chud's system.

IMO, we are better off with Shula and Chud teaching our QBs the system. The only thing a Vet QB can bring to the table would be to teach how a starting QB acts. The "What to do's". I believe almost any Vet can teach those pricipals. Let the people that know what they want, be the ones to coach and teach. Shula has a fine reputation. Why not let him teach up Cameron, instead of wasting money and a roster spot on a Vet QB?

Look at it this way. If by some miracle Shula and Chud can acutally get something out of Clausen to allow Cameron to watch and learn for 6-8 games. It would improve Clausen's value, and by extension help the Panthers get something of value in a trade. Brining in a Vet QB would hinder that process.

I do realize I may be bucking a trend by actually posting a football related thought. But hey, I have always enjoyed bucking the system. And I have never been afraid to share my thoughts about FOOTBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!

And oh yeah, GOOOO PANTHERS!!!!!!!!!!!

My grandmother once lamented that air conditioning was ruining the world. Because people left civilization for the comfort of their homes.

"IF" Farve did comeback wouldnt he face suspension?

For the Sterger incident? I don't think so but could be wrong. I thought he was "cleared" by the NFL for that. Regardless, I don't care what the Eagles or his agent says I think he joins the Eagles the week before game 1 if they move Kolb and don't sign a significant backup.

    • The division is most certainly wide open. The Bucs are a problem but Baker Mayfield is and will remain his own worst enemy it's a matter of when not if he has a bad game or even a stretch of bad games. As far as the Panthers they have done an admirable job of trying to address needs as best they can without pulling a Scott Fitterer and getting desperate which has only made us worse off in the past. On the Bryce subject all anyone can really say at this point is we just have to wait and see. This is the year and despite what the Panthers may say publicly doubling down and going all in on WR is as good as any sign anyone should need that they expect Bryce Young to have a very productive and convincing season. The pieces are in place. They aren't perfect but nothing ever will be. Regardless there's honestly no excuse for this staff and this team not to be able to compete in this iteration of the NFC South. Also just want to say this because I can say the hyper defensive posts already being made in here and it's probably going to be a season with highs and lows again but hopefully more highs for sure. But just because there is dialogue about a position group or a player that challenges your preconceived notions or makes you uncomfortable does not make it "hate" or "anti" this player or that player. For some people who talk a lot about nuance you would think this wouldn't need to be stated but that's where we're at.
    • If I was a coach I would preach "Don't let the refs decide the game" because as soon as you let the NFL the chance to help their bottom dollar whether it be teams that make most money or gambling then they will screw the team that doesn't fit their bottom line......is it rigged? No but do they try and make certain narratives happen abso-freakin-lutley. As I stated in a previous thread NFL players are the ones that SHOULD have all guaranteed contracts but the boot lickers on this forum disagree and argue for the billionaires in this world who own these teams, sheep
    • I wont go quite so far as to say games are rigged.  You wouldnt have to work hard to convince me there was the occasional thumb on the scale but outright rigged? nah.   but collusion on the rest of the "business" of football, sure.  No one really believes that the only time the 32 owners act as one is during the negotiations of the CBA do they?
