Cam Newton's Potential: The Greatest Athlete in American Sports

Cam Newton can be our Michael Jordan of football, and because football is the greatest american sport at the moment, Cam can be the greatest athlete in US sports! Had Cam ran a pro-offense at Auburn, he would already have this title coming in, but this is his potential. By now, we all know Cam Newton will be starting day one as long as he doesn't look terrible in pre-season play. (If we play the pre-season) I'm getting excited to see this kid play.:D

I've watched 30 years of Auburn football and in that time, Cam is the most exciting player to play at Auburn, except Bo Jackson.

Until the 3rd or 4th game neither the coaches or the fans realized the extent of the talent that Cam has. It was one hell of a ride last year. If Cam can take it to the next level, and I think he can, you have every reason to be excited.

The only thing he needs is good teaching and instruction. We know he has the mobility, and we know he's in good shape. If you combine that with the ability to direct an offense, I don't see why he shouldn't be the best QB in the game.

    • See that's the thing what I saw in game 2 was so embarrassing id rather they could just forfeit
    • Are you arguing that his height deficiencies and footwork within the pocket have not been a present issue clearly seen on his game tape particularly in the games he struggled in? Because that's simply denying what everyone in this fanbase who have watched the games have seen. It's interesting how hardline BY fans here quickly and effortlessly pivot from whailing about being victimized to becoming the aggressor and hurling out allegations of bias and hatred. And at the end of the day while Bryce Young clearly improved significantly from the first two games of the season the reality of the situation is he still finished 42nd in yards per pass attempt behind Mac Jones and tied with Caleb Williams and 38th in passing yards per game behind the likes of Gardner Minshew Aidan O'Connell Drake Maye and Will Levis. Furthermore it took Bryce Young 23 games to surpass Panthers legend Kyle Allen's 13 games worth of passing yardage in 2019. So if your argument is he became a head and shoulders better passer over the course of the second half of the season the reality is we're still waiting to see that growth this season. And there is nothing controversial or vitriolic about saying so from the mind of a rational observer.
    • Cam regularly threw for less than 200 yards and nobody questioned he was elite. He averaged 219 yds per game for his career.  You seem to be way too hung up on yards as a stat.  By that definition Jameis Winston should have been MVP by now.
