So, I've been wanting to delve into the world of scotch drinking. I love smoking a nice cigar and I've heard nothing compliments a good stogies like a glass of scotch. I admit I've never really gotten into drinking scotch, so I wanted to see if the Huddle might be able to enlighten me (of course it can!!). So, any scotch drinkers in her? Recommendations? I've read a bit on what differentiates a scotch from other whiskeys and it's pretty interesting stuff. The type of moss it's filtered through and whatnot. What say ye??

johnnie walker gold is my joint, but the purists will scoff.

I'm the opposite. I've had lots of scotch but want to get more into cigars.

My advice is get some mini bottles of several kinds and go nuts. Drink what you like regardless of price or what others say. Everyone seems to have a different taste for it.

The wikipedia page has a lot of info if you want to know the different types and how it's distilled. Never go with blended(i.e. Johnny Walker). Not that it's that bad, you'd just be better off getting a bottle of crown or jack. I'm no expert by any means. Usually I have a bottle of Glenlivet 12 year at all times as I think it's the best bang for your buck($40-45 for a 1/5). I really like Glenfiddich and Macallan as well. Lately I've been meaning to get bottles from all the different regions but I tend to take my time finishing a bottle.

People say "never go with blended" because blended scotches tend to have grain whisky in them. Only the lowest JW has grain whisky, JW Red.

JW Gold is a blend of only single malts and it is delicious.

I can't argue with that. I've tried some of the better JW and it wasn't that bad(black label maybe?). Red label is mainly what I was referring to as that's what most people think of with blended. I'll have to try gold label. How much is it?

$80 at an ABC, sometimes you can do better.

In order of quality It goes:

Red (poo) $20? I dunno, never bought it. Only good for mixing.

Black $40 (good standby for the price)

Green $60? (Never bought it either)

Gold $80

Blue $200 (I had it once in a restaurant, it was amazing. Some really rare scotches go into blue. It's good, but not $200 good.)

There is nothing wrong with a tall glass of Johnnie Walker Black (or higher i.e. gold, green, or blue) on the rocks, a nice stogie, and a woman who is mildly attractive and morally casual sitting in your lap.

      Hes not throwing into coverage. Coverage doesn’t matter when you throw half your passes behind the line of scrimmage. Defenses are playing 8 in the box with single high safeties. matter what the defense is or what they’re disguising if you’re just gonna throw a 20 yard go route and hope the wr gets there.

      I appreciate the efforts you've made here with this data. As concerned as I am about how efficient we are allowing opposing QB's to perform against us I think we can all agree a change of scenery at DC will go a long ways. Equally as important is the simple fact that we have shifted primarily to an offensive identity as a team and the investments of our resources strongly reflect that. If we cannot get better results out of this offense things need to change.

      Covered that above. As for his weapons I am completely over the scapegoating of the receivers. Been doing this for now going on three full years and I'm done hearing it. At some point if you have a franchise QB he either makes the players around him better or he doesn't. Now if you want to get into Canales I am willing to give him just as much smoke as Bryce because we had options for head coach and we chose to go offensive head coach again to oversee the development of our steep investments in the offense. So far said development is lacking to say the least and we came out of the bye week with the division and playoffs to play for looking like the less motivated team. That is unacceptable.
