Prescription drug commercials

Why do these corporations even bother advertising this poo:

I wouldn't touch this stuff with a ten foot pole while standing on the roof of a 30 story building contemplating either a swan dive or a two and a half with a twist.

Seems like they'd be much better off having doctors prescribe it to some poor unsuspecting sap.

Americans are easily persuaded by "easy buttons"..

imagine if oil or some natural disaster actually forces all of us to fight for survival.. I feel pretty sure about saying, follow me... a lot of disconnected people are going to fall quickly.

I used to work in the pharmacy, lots of people use pristiq (mostly males). This drug is expensive as hell... People think doctors know better, if doctor said it must be true... But after working in the pharmacy for over 6 years, I learned that most doctors are complete idiots and not honest when it comes to prescription drugs. Do your homework people.

Doctors are just like everyone else- fast food employees, mechanics, bartenders, project managers, and strippers. There are a few exceptionally good ones, a lot of mediocre ones, and a quite a few that aren't worth their weight in discarded peanut shells.

So I don't think it's fair to say "most doctors are complete idiots." I mean, let's be honest with ourselves. You can't be an idiot and make it through that challenging work load in school. Everything is relative, though, and when you're talking about your health, even your life, the slightest swing towards the wrong direction can leave you miserable.

But I absolutely, even emphatically agree that people should research their current or potential doctors.

Called book smart... I know many people that had almost perfect GPA in college yet lack common sense.

I've been taking alternative medicine classes. I'm prepared for what is needed and only taken one script in the past 18 months. Everything else has been natural cures. I didn't know how to fix my ear infection and put eye drops in my ear. Funny that the same script for ear drops when used for eyes was a fraction of the cost but the exact same formula. My herbalist was out of town so I didn't know what to do for my ear so had to go to Minute Clinic.

Yeah, as long as my doc has street smarts I know I'm good to go.

Our man in Amsterdam has it correct.

The bottom line is, you need to take control of your own damn health and use doctors as a resource, not a wishing well in which you abandon your ownership of your own well being.

This includes prescription drugs, as well as following up with said doc on the efficacy of the Rx for your case so that changes can be made prn.

My favorite are the ads for drugs in which the side effects seem way worse than the symptoms.

Try drugulex! Talk to your doctor about finding relief from Perpetually Itchy Elbows Syndrome! PIES doesn't have to rule your life forever! Sunshine and puppies await!

Side effects include: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, depression, suicidal thoughts, giving birth to half alien flipper children, killing your first-born child, declaring satan as your lord, dry mouth, and fatigue.

Exactly.

It is not only the doctors responsibility to get you well. You are a part of the equation as well.

    • agree to disagree you are entitled to that opinion even though I find the argument completely bizarre based on data. I could type out a long paragraph discussing those areas but what’s the point. I posted a screenshot that showed Bryce in a similar post snap situation with a free rusher in his face which resulted in a TD - that’s what happened on the play so I posted it.
    • I've already addressed this notion in a previous reply. You are basing your assertion outside reality if you think Bryce would have not only been more successful but defeated the Patriots in place of Herbert. Bryce got blown off the field by that Patriots team with the highest paid OL in the league. We've seen Bryce with an OL that gave up 65 sacks and it resulted in the #1 pick. And that is not a defense of Herbert or arguing he is a great QB in any way. He has physical talent but he has been similar to Darnold early in his career in terms of his very up and down perfomances. However that does not change the fact that they have significantly less invested in the OL than the Panthers.
    • I think Tepper has been setting the stage where pending there is no miracle he wipes it all clean.  Think you already have been told that with small things like Evero staying.  Bryce is the guy next year.  OC, DC, everything stays the same.  QB room largely the same.  Nothing would really matter there.  They basically get one more shot and it goes how the schedule paired with our 27th ranked O predictably most likely goes.  Everyone out the door together.  Bryce is a bridge tier QB.  I don’t see Dave surviving where he could be bridge QB here in reality.
