Bobcats Rd 1, #9 pick Kemba Walker

This city is changing and maturing as a sports town. We are putting on a premium on "winners" right now. I love it!

I like the panthers and bobcats picks this year, but let's not forget that we have used high picks on "winners" like ray Felton, Sean may, and emeka okafor who haven't lived up to their billing. Chris weinke was a "winner" too.

why do i have to be THAT guy? I don't like this pick. Yeah it's early and I hope he rocks. But this is what I call tv talent. The Bobcats front office picked this guy based on watching tv. No homework elsewhere.

The backcourt has to get bigger or they can't defend and go deep in the playoffs. You don't play half court d in the league, you go home early.

Prove me wrong Kemba and welcome to the Q.

    • Right and I think we can have a conversation about that. But even with the scheme he should still be able to muster more than 1.5 sacks right? I mean DJ Johnson played in Evero's scheme too but that didn't stop us from calling him a bust. Scourton didn't seem to have trouble flashing. There can be different things true at one time.
    • I assume you are quoting my still. If so, I don't know what your argument is since mine was simply showing a play where Bryce scored a TD against the Rams in the playoffs where another poster used a similar still of Herbert's line to defend his poor performance last night. Like I said, Herbert is a better QB but Bryce wins the game last night for the Chargers. It simply is something he does better than Herbert and would play to his strengths. Someone even said earlier Chargers only win 1 or 2 games this year if Bryce was their QB which is so absurdly laughable it wasn't even worth trying to address. I mean this thread is literally called "Bryce Young is the worst QB in Panther's History" so I understand there is no objective arguments to be had here but I found that amusing.
    • I think his knee would make a good reason to switch to guard IF he returns.  Half don't.  Half of those don't last too long.  The strain on a knee (320lb man) vs speed rushers is more substantial.  So I would keep him if I could on a small contract (he will make $17.5 in 2026 fully guaranteed) and think of him as a possible guard for the post Lewis/Hunt era.  Knee injuries in big men are not invitations to invest in them.
